Civitas Coffee — Restaurant in La Mirada

Once again I find myself at Civitas Coffee and I will say that I enjoy the smooth espresso latte, not a single bitter note to be found. This is a Honey Lavender Latte the barista seemed to be in training and probably won't win for best looking heart shaped foam but he makes up for it with a great froth and temperature that plays well with the jetty espresso beans they use, they have invested in great equipment can't go wrong with La Marrozcco equipment, the location is hard to find from the street and parking lot is kinda busy.. now for the west end of La Mirada, this place is a hidden gem and a must visit for anyone who thinks that they know espresso, this is in my top 5 coffee shops with, Tacoma Washington's Valhalla, and Los Angeles coffee lab Intelligentsia. Cute place, descent options and deserts. But the service is not good. Ordered iced late with coconut milk and I asked for light ice. I paid extra for then coconut milk and extra for additional shot of espresso. When they give my drink the cup is only half full with light ice, I asked to fill the cut with milk and he said it’s an extra charge. I don’t mind paying and I did pay another 75c for the milk even tho I already paid extra 50 c. All this can be stated when I paying the first time even tho I don’t think it makes sense. If I don’t want cup full of ice then it doesn’t mean I want half cup of coffee with 3 drops of milk. Best coffee in town, perfect for commuters! Right on Rosecrans by the freeway and open early! Such an amazing beautiful spot, wonderful, knowledgeable baristas and true third wave coffee!

Amazing kombucha and the strawberry matcha is so good (and I don't even like matcha!) I usually go for mochas and lattes, all of which are amazing. Just recently tried their drip coffee which is amazing for it's price! Americano is wonderful but my favorite is the Spanish Latte and they have Oat milk!
