6.13.25 @ approx. 1 P.M. I came here for the first time because Lumber Jacks (another eatery I wanted to try seemed to have been closed for good). I saw chicken and sausage gumbo on their menu, but they ran out. I tried the shrimp stew. It came with corn and potato salad. It was good. We also tried the fried catfish (2 pieces), and I really enjoyed the piece I tasted. If you are ever on Moss St. and looking for a plate lunch, the Lunch Box might fill the void.

Great home town spot with classic Cajun food, a perfect spot for lunch and helps support the local market. The service was quick, the food was good and the venue has room to facilitate the average crowd. They run lunch specials and you can also order off the normal menu. Prices are very reasonable!

great little restaurant. good prices. fair portions. friendly staff. only wish to make it better is to offer muffalettas- I rather expect that at a south Louisiana lunch establishment that serves sandwiches.

During a recent visit to The Lunch Box, a quaint diner known for its Louisiana dinner with creole dishes, my husband and I had an enjoyable experience overall. The Lunch Box has a unique and nostalgic ambiance, adorned with various lunchboxes that instantly took me back to my childhood. It seems to be a popular spot, especially among locals and older patrons looking for a quick and affordable lunch.

I opted for the shrimp po' boy, which was decent and flavorful. I'd rate it a 3.75 out of 5. My husband tried the fried pork chop special. Although it had good flavor, the pork was a bit dry, so we would rate it a 3.25 out of 5.

The standout feature of our visit was undoubtedly the friendly and welcoming staff. They were attentive and added a pleasant touch to our dining experience. While the food had its ups and downs, the overall atmosphere and service made it a worthwhile visit.

If you're in the mood for some creole dishes and a trip down memory lane with its unique decor, The Lunch Box is worth...

I walked up to the order counter, they had a lady in front of me, so I waited for them to finish with her, so she moved, I walked closer to counter the young lady turns around knowing I was there, and kindly sat down on stool which wasn’t close to register, and starts messing on her phone, I’m there looking like, what the heck, These young people cannot go a hold minute without there phones, that’s our future, bad bad service from that place, the man in back , must have seen my expression and come running towards me to take my order, had he not done that, I was going...

I had the bbq chicken which was delicious but the rest of the meal was not. The mashed potatoes with gravy tasted like they came out of a box, which they did b/c I called the restaurant and they confirmed it YUCK, at least they could of tried to make them taste good. The cole slaw had too much black pepper and the baked beans I suspect also came out of a can. I am disappointed in this family run business, they charge you $8.93 for boxed mashed potatoes and canned baked beans, SHAME ON YOU. Whatever happened to REAL FOOD? I will not...
