The donuts we purchased this morning were less than what I expect from a place that has always had such delicious donuts. The cinnamon rolls were very sloppily iced with barely any icing on them and were very dry. They long Johns tastes stale and were hard like they were from yesterday. I understand making donuts ahead of time but if you are going to do that then your quality needs to be on point. We wasted $16 on donuts that tasted like they came from Walmart. Please do better Mary Lou’s……. I might add when the owner responds to criticism they seem to like to try to embarrass customers when they critique the food they have paid for. Part of being a business owner is taking criticism. You aren’t the one paying for your product so if a customer wants to leave reviews of some they THEY paid for maybe show some grace and be a decent human being and fix the problem instead of trying to blame to customer. I added a photo of the cinnamon roll so you can see how sloppy your products have become.

So went in there 2 weeks ago and got half a dozen doughnuts they charged me 57.47 cents and I even hat tipped and have just been giving me the rin around every since terrible service should have just gave me cash back at this point but apparently they don't car about ripping someone off though mom a pop places like this took care of there people but loosing a lifetime customer and someone who actually would tell people to try em for 47 dollars vus they must be hurting I guess but I'll see tommorow when I speak to the manager again but unless you want a surprise when you see ur receipt don't got here and tht is the receipt they sent saying the never charged me either scamming unprofessional or incompetent or maybe a bit of all

5/9 I have to give the young lady on duty around 11:45 a shout out for being patient and friendly. My wife usually gets donuts. I'm not familiar with the set up or the menu. I travel so I get my fix out of state. I had a nice experience! You can't go at noon and expect them to have all you want. I like a business that once it's out you miss out. It means they're food is freshly made. The young girl was totally cool explaining what they had left. She did not rush me, and gave me several options. I ordered a custard, and it was filled to enjoy every bite! My kids knew what they wanted and they were in stock! Great donuts! If you're ever in Lafayette, make this a memorable trip and try our donut shop!

Drive thru service only right now - or order ahead and i believe they'll run your order out to you, although they may have stopped since they are subject to the same staffing shortages as everywhere else right now. Their donuts are simply GREAT, homemade and delicious! Apple fritters and persians as big as your head! (or "mini" fritters, which are sized for normal people haha) All different kinds of filled donuts! (overfilled occasionally, but I'm not complaining🤗) All different kinds of cake donut! I'm partial to the white iced with coconut, myself. Their menu is available online as a pdf document, definitely check it out before you go - otherwise you'll be stuck in the drive-thru going UHHHHHHHH because there's no menu posted on the building itself. 😜 Located at the bottom of 4th St., and definitely worth the trip! Go very early if possible, otherwise you may get stuck in a line for awhile, LOLOL. Also, WATCH THE CONES, their parking lot is now mostly a one-way path for drive-thru traffic, not parking as such anymore. There are a few spaces at the front...

I had my first Mary Lou's doughnut in 1967. I would brag about their doughnuts all across the country . . . until shortly after the change in ownership. In the first weeks everything stayed the same but over time, I noticed a change in the taste. I was assured by ownership that everything was the same . . . same recipe, ingredients and even some of the same bakers. Despite that, the doughnuts do not taste the same. After 50 years of consuming their product, suddenly, they don't taste the same (as good) and it seems to coincide with the ownership change. All I can figure is that while the ingredients may be "the same", maybe the brand or the supplier of the ingredients has changed. I have talked to other locals and they all have agreed that something is not right and the doughnut is not worth going out of your way for (or not at all) anymore. Sadly, Mary Lou's has been reduced to 'slightly above average in my mind. They need to figure this out and return to their previous superlative taste that was worth...
