I was surprised by the short menu, from the description of the friends who recommended it, I thought it would have a 20 page monster. But, I'd rather go somewhere that has limited choice as long as every item is of excellent quality. Obviously, my visit today for lunch gave me only one point of reference, but I will say the garlic butter chicken I had was about 4 levels above excellent. The menu description sounded great, but that written piece was only a shadow of the reality. It was superb plus. This is one of those cases where I've found a dish I like and will be tempted never to try anything else there and just keep re-ordering that one. But I understand that other stuff may be as good or better, so next visit I will venture into the unknown, and will try the honey chicken from my friends' recommendations. The prices were slightly higher than I generally spend for lunch, but I can't say it was wasted money since the quality was right up there near the top. I've had better meals but I've paid a LOT more for them. On a cost/benefit analysis (I worked for a career in accounting!), this was perhaps in the top 3 of my historical meals. Another great point is that you got enough, it wasn't one of those pansy places where you pay $15 per bite for a microscopic serving. About half-way through, I thought about stopping and taking it home for later, but I could not stop eating due to the outstanding taste profile. It's about a 15 mile drive from my home, but even with the high price of gas, the drive is well worth it. Go! You will not be...

UPDATE - We stopped by last Saturday and gave them another chance. It was 3:00 and fairly busy. I am happy to report we were seated promptly as before but on this occasion we were not ignored. Our waitress took our drink orders quickly as well as our food orders. Had a reasonable wait time for food which was delicious. I have absolutely no complaints this time around. We will definitely be back and hopefully next time I can try the margarita flight.

Service was nonexistent! My husband and I stopped by for dinner on a Wednesday night. We arrived just before 8pm. Our first visit as we don’t live nearby and I was super excited to try the burger special as well as the flight of margaritas. Never got the chance. We were promptly seated with menus and silverware. The service stopped there. No one ever came back. Not to even take our drink orders! There were maybe 5 tables of people as well as people at the bar. It was by no means packed. The table just down the way from us one of the servers visited at least 3 times. The table diagonal from us had a visit at least twice by another server. Both glanced our way but I assume couldn’t be bothered to actually take our order or even say they’d be with us shortly. I’ve not had such poor service in years. After waiting more than 15 minutes, we left and we never be back. This is so disappointing as I’ve heard such good things about their...

Amazing Food, Drinks, and Service – A Must-Visit!

My wife and I had an incredible experience at Destination 814, and we can’t wait to come back! From start to finish, everything was top-notch.

We kicked things off with the Blueberry Smash Bourbon, and wow—what a drink! It was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and easily one of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. For an appetizer, we had the Phat Chips, and not only was the portion huge, but the flavor was absolutely delicious. We were already full after that, but we had our entrees on the way, and we’re so glad we did!

My wife had the 814 Chicken Sandwich, and she couldn’t stop raving about how amazing it was. I went for the Bacon Cheddar & PB Burger, and let me tell you—it was a taste explosion in the best way possible. The combination of flavors was bold, unexpected, and absolutely delicious.

On top of the fantastic food and drinks, the service was outstanding. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and the bartender really knew how to craft a great drink. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a great night out.

If you’re looking for delicious food, creative drinks, and top-tier service, Destination 814 is the place to be. We’ll...

Four of us had dinner at destination 814. It was a very unexpected treat, considering it was in Lagrange, Indiana. It is a place that would be more at home in a trendy place like Broadripple in Indianapolis. For one the whiskey selection is one of the better ones that I’ve seen. They had buffalo trace to Taylor. As well as Glenfiddich from Scotland to Tenjaku from Japan. They have 16 different flights. I had number 10 Japanese harmony. I had always wanted to try Japanese whiskey and this was a good opportunity at $18. It contained four three-quarter ounce pours. I would recommend it if you want to experience something different. My wife likes Pinot Grigio from Italy. She received a very good one for eight dollars and it was a generous pour. We had the grilled tenderloin sandwich, fish, and chips, Bourbon chicken sandwich, and the Mahi fish sandwich. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. You can also substitute a few things for no cost, like sweet potato tots or coleslaw instead of the french fries. The weight staff was very attentive. Was happy to give them a nice tip. Our bill before taxes was $100. I would highly recommend this small town gem to anyone going through Lagrange, Indiana.

This is our first time visiting Michigan and discovered this place. I came across a few reviews on this place and decided to give it a try. We showed up just during the dinner rush and had a little bit of a wait to get in....which was expected on a Saturday night. We got seated at the bar and ordered our first round of drinks. The bartenders "Sabrina & Tony" were amazing! Two of the best bartenders I've ever seen working together! Sabrina served me up a Margarita flight followed by a black cherry margarita. The drinks were awesome! I ordered a burger and the chicken tenders.....they were delicious!! The atmosphere in this place is so upbeat and easy going. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area and looking for a bite to eat and some awesome drinks...ask for Sabrina or Tony and you will be amazed at watching them make some of the specialty drinks.

This restaurant is new and was opened by the former owner of the Copper Top restaurant. There is an extensive beer selection although the taps weren't working so we couldn't get a draft beer. The menu is large and the food is good. I had a party melt that came with fries. My wife had chicken tenders that came with fries and Cole slaw which was also good. One of our friends had a breaded tenderloin which was huge. He ended up taking half of it home. The server was friendly and attentive and checked back on us several times. It's a small place and we got there about 4:30 so we were seated right away. When we left at 5:30 every table was taken and people were waiting outside to be seated. All in all it was a good experience. Great to have a quality restaurant in Lagrange
