The food here is very good. I didn't even have to add anything to my chicken quesadilla because the flavor by itself was flavorful on its own. They do give very generous portions as well. The place is small and the decorations are eclectic but it all works well together.
The reason why I gave it only 3 stars is because we ordered alcoholic drinks and didn't get them at all. When my companion and I walked in, no one was in there. A few minutes later there were about 4 other tables occupied. Everyone else who walked in after us, they were all served their drinks first. Not only that but they were out of the drinks we originally ordered. Not once did the waitress ask if we wanted anything else to drink and she only apologized once. Yes, she was nice and no doubt she was doing her best but come on, if you're running a business, alcoholic drinks are one of the biggest money makers. We received our food and we ate a decent amount and still had NO drinks. WE had to ask for soft drinks and nix the alcohol. As a waitress, she never even suggested other drinks or asked if we wanted water all the while KNOWING our drinks were not coming.
Yes it's a small business but they were very understaffed for a busy weekend. I do hope this place thrives but if that is their idea of good service I don't...
Read moreThe salsa’s are excellent! Both red and green. The meats we had were the chicken and asada and the flavors were on point! I was not a fan of the oil fried taco shells that were not crispy. Pick a side soft or crispy! Personally if they just served the taco shells warm it would be a 5 star meal. The rice reminded me of elementary school Mexican rice that tastes of ketchup. The refried beans were too dry but flavorful. Overall, I would come here again, but would specifically ask for soft corn shells for my tacos and not get the side dishes. It’s unfortunate that they are using premade corn chips that were very hard since their Salsa is amazing. I especially enjoyed the Chicharrón (pork rind). I would have liked to see chile verde sauce on the menu instead of queso smothered burritos. Which is a more authentic version of a wet style burrito. I feel that this business will be very popular and the little things I mentioned will hopefully be addressed in the future. I may sound a little critical but I’m from California where there are Mexican restaurants everywhere. I’m also a home cook that recreates many dishes I miss from my hometown. I wish this place...
