The Lucky Penny Café — Restaurant in LaGrange

I went here on a friend's recommendation. So excited about this place. First off, the staff...so friendly. They helped me navigate The coffee menu to meet my taste. The owner told me about this white expresso that's under brewed but like double the strength of regular expresso with a nutty smooth finish 🙌.....if I had not already had my heart set on my twix mocha I would have definitely went with that. They had yummy options for lunch bites, soup, wraps and salads. We were there for breakfast options the boy went with and everything bagel with their chive cream cheese and I went for the waffle flights. The waffle is cut into four and each section gets its own customized toppings of your choice. So yummy. The inside is a small U shape wrap around section with high top seating and some lower seats also, they do have picnic tables with umbrellas outside as well. There is a cute separate boutique business that's open as they share the space. We took a little walk through there also why we finished our coffee before jumping back on the moto. What an adorable place. The owner is super friendly. I had the Cake Bomb milkshake. If you are not a huge coffee flavor fan the white espresso that is in this drink is for you. Extremely subtle. I also got a strawberry cheesecake milkshake. The “milkshake” is more of a frappe consistency. Both of the drinks I purchased were delicious. This little local cafe serves freshly baked good, made to order custom drinks, and they are Eco-conscious. They also serve bubble tea, coffee , specialty drinks and more. The space is small but they did a great job creating seating for those who want to dine in. They serve some breakfast & lunch items, and have some great homemade soups. My daughter and I visited your establishment to celebrate a special occasion and ordered two mocha frappuccinos; one with coffee and one without, as my daughter is ten and does not consume coffee.

Could you please explain why the barista asked a child if they wanted a double shot of espresso after I specified no coffee in their drink? A child does not require a double shot of espresso.

I ordered a slice of red velvet cake and found it was placed in a brown paper bag instead of a proper food container. This made it difficult and messy to remove the dessert.
