Family owned Danish food in Laguna Niguel. My friend had recommended we try it based on reviews in another app and I’m so happy we did. Went for lunch on a Thursday I believe and we were quickly seated. We reviewed the menu, and also asked the friendly owner what the best options were and both decided we wanted to mix and match so went with the sliders.
These are not your typical slider where one or two bites you are done. They are open faced sandwiches, and you get THREE of them! I opted for the breaded cod, frikadellar, and roasted beef filet. They make everything in house including their delicious rye bread. It’s very dense so there is one slice at the bottom of your open faced sandwich which is more than enough bread.
The breaded cod is with lemon, asparagus, avocado, and remoulade. The breading was very light which I enjoyed. I could have eaten this without the rye. It was good, but not my favorite. My friend got the salmon instead.
The frikadellar was my favorite ❤️. Danish pork meatballs with pickled cabbage and cucumbers . Yummy to my tummy. The meatballs were so tender and the flavor combinations were explosive in my mouth. I’d go back for that meal alone.
Finally the roasted beef filet. I wanted to love this with its caramelized onions and pickled beets, but the meat wasn’t cut thin or tender enough to easily cut with the knife. I had to fight to get a bite each time. The beets and onions were gobbled up no problem, but the meat was a chore to enjoy. It was cooked nicely, but the cut wasn’t a tender piece.
Looking forward to going back for the frikadellar meatballs and something on their dinner menu I...

Copenhagen Corner has been a delightful addition to our neighborhood, gracing us with its presence for the past year. As the sole Danish restaurant in all of Southern California, it brings a unique and authentic taste of Denmark to our local dining scene.
During my first visit, I had the pleasure of savoring the Stjerneskud, a mixed seafood delight served over sourdough with a medley of veggies—a Danish twist on an open-faced sandwich. Priced at just $20, it was a culinary masterpiece that combined the freshness of seafood with the rich textures and flavors of the accompanying vegetables.
My culinary adventure didn't end there; I also indulged in a Danish pastry to-go, priced at a mere $5. Its deliciousness was a testament to the mastery of Danish pastry craftsmanship.
Yet, what truly sets Copenhagen Corner apart is the genuine warmth and friendliness of the family who runs it—a team effort by mom, dad, and their daughter, as I believe. Their heartfelt hospitality creates a welcoming neighborhood vibe that makes every diner feel like an honorary member of their extended family.
In conclusion, Copenhagen Corner is not just a restaurant; it's a cherished community gem. It offers delectable Danish cuisine, unbeatable value, and an inviting atmosphere. Whether you're seeking an authentic Danish culinary experience or a place where the staff treats you like family, this restaurant ticks all the boxes. In my book, it's a perfect 5/5 dining destination, and I can't wait to return soon for another...
Read moreLovely quaint spot, tucked away in a little corner of Laguna Niguel. Waited a bit to post because I wanted to keep this great place a local secret. Family owned truly authentic. Have been looking for a place for German food since the Jagerhaus closed in Anaheim. My husband finally found a Jagersnitzel spot in South OC, where lightly breaded juicy pork, mushroom gravy perfectly cooked and seasoned. Gravy was light. House made pickled veggies. Really enjoyed the fact that the food was beautifully plated and tasted wonderful— not the franchised “fake” diner food. I enjoyed the house special lamb chops perfectly cooked and seasoned with a nice char and mashed potatoes. Enjoyed being able to order the “dinner” item at 11:00 and the flexibility/versatility of ordering what I wanted when I wanted. So many times the franchise regulates what and when you can order. Loved it so much went the next day for dinner, ordered the bratwurst which was meaty and accompanied by the house pickled veggies. The stroganoff delicious with the mashed potatoes, which I usually have to smother in more butter. These potatoes are great as prepared. The Danish pastries made in house were also wonderful. The menu is so varied we have a lot to look forward to for our next visit! Another plus is that the restaurant they owned in Copenhagen offered international cuisine so expertise in Italian and Mexican and European dishes are evident in the wonderful food and...
