This quaint lil diner has the most friendly service.atmosphere was nice . Needs some updating.Could be a very comfortable place to have a delicious home cooked meal but my husband and I ordered omelets, sausage bisquit n gravy and grits.plus a bisquit, not delicious home cooked country food..the bisquits were canned bisquits and poor quality ones at tht.the sausage bisquits n gravy were terrible ,hard bisquits, the gravy was not home made ,it tasted like the packaged white country style gravy ,poor quality sausage..as for the omelets crunchy veggies, small bits of terrible tasting sausage and mushy eggs and I had grits .I love buttery grits with salt I don't think these had any and we're under cooked.crunchy grits ...I have to say we won't eat here again..I am a country cook .I love to cook there's no skimping on quality food to prepare great dishes..they need a country cook in country cooking and better quality foods..I understand prices of food are high but bisquits can be made home made cheaper than the canned bisquits now a days..the servers are truly friendly and have smiles and humor.very nice place ,owner does greet which was nice but the food just honestly was disappointing..no taste.poor quality. Fast food in a country diner doesn't mix well..McDonald's has better food .I want to give this comfy restaurant great review but I can't..I'm hoping this review will push owners in a better direction and provide quality tasteful food for their customers.. There's no dollar amount for superb food Make superb tasting country cooking and all of your tables will be full..you are most likely surviving on town locals that frequented the restaurant years ago under...
Read moreThis was our first time here. We had been talking about it for months. This restaurant was clean and nice. The waitress came quickly after we sat ourselves. Our food also came out faster than expected. With all this good two things messed it up. First, not sure if he was the manager or owner BUT he was very rude to the staff as he barked out orders very loudly to them. Not once but several times that cause some customers to whisper among themselves. Then he proceeds to call all of them in the back and yell even more. This was so unprofessional and that may have been our first and last time coming. BUT I HAVE TO SAY ALL OF THE OTHER STAFF MEMBERS WERE GREAT. Second, I do not believe that animals should allowed to come into restaurants where food is being prepared and eaten. If it's a CERTIFIED service animal then that is acceptable in my opinion. Because it is NOT sanitary. There are outside seats and they should be instructed to use that area. I am a lover of animals. We have dogs and cats at HOME.
To respond to the owner. First, there was only one customer who said something out loud about the dog which has absolutely nothing to do with me. Also, that is not a CERTIFIED service animal. I have worked with them and they have to have on an approved apron. Second, we as your customers all heard you aggressively raise your voice. Third the fact that you failed to acknowledge and accept that tells me you do this on a regular basis and feel that you are not in the wrong. You have not once tried to satisfy me as a customer....
Read moreIt is hard for me to rate this place accurately, simply based on stars. The place has as a bit of a denny's vibe to me, and it would be a place I would go to for a general hot breakfast superior to fast food in every way. I know that may not sound like a glowing complement, but the place is what it is, and I would not suggest to them that they change how they do things specially. Actually I would suggest only the owner be careful to maintain their price point at the given quality/quantity of the food they are serving as the place serves whether they know it or not serves a specific demograhic in the area. That being said I go here for a relaxing casual breakfast or lunch that will not hurt my wallet to much. If would by far recommend them over chains I know in the area and also over the auburndale diner as they are slightly better. One thing I will mention in regard to the auburndale diner to the owner/manager is not to switch to portion control syrup for pancakes as not only is it annoying, the pc packs are...
