The M Bar Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Lake Charles

I recently visited this establishment for the first time to attend a birthday party gathering. Upon arrival, I was impressed by the overall atmosphere—the vibe was lively, and the venue was well-maintained both inside and out. The cleanliness of the space was definitely a positive first impression. However, as the night went on, the service left much to be desired, which ultimately tainted my experience.

Despite there being numerous servers available to assist patrons, the overall coordination and execution were chaotic. The staff appeared confused and unorganized, struggling to manage orders in a timely and efficient manner. It was frustrating to witness the lack of professionalism, especially given the number of employees present. With so many hands on deck, one would expect a smoother service experience, but unfortunately, that was not the case.

Pricing was another major disappointment. I was shocked to see someone pay $32 for an order of wings, which seemed highly excessive for what was being offered. Additionally, I personally ordered two mixed drinks and was charged $40. The drinks themselves were average at best, but what concerned me more was the suspicion that prices were being inconsistently charged, particularly for customers who paid in cash. From my observation, it appeared that some servers may have been upcharging and potentially pocketing the extra money as tips. If this is indeed the case, it’s incredibly unprofessional and unfair to paying customers who expect transparency in pricing.

During my visit, I believe I had the opportunity to speak with the owner regarding my concerns. While I appreciated them taking the time to listen, that’s essentially all that happened—they listened, but no real resolution or acknowledgment of the issues was provided. It felt like my feedback was heard but not truly taken into consideration, which was disappointing.

As someone who genuinely enjoys supporting small businesses, I wanted to have a great experience and hoped to become a returning customer. However, given the poor service and questionable pricing practices, I don’t see myself coming back on a regular basis or recommending this establishment to others. There is potential here, but without significant improvements in service quality, organization, and pricing transparency, it’s hard to justify...

The service was great and this was my second time there. I had two combo orders. The wings are so good, but when I was halfway done eating I found a long hair fried onto one of my wings. I know It was fried onto it bc it was stuck to the wing. This photo is once i pulled it off and stretched it out to see if it was a hair 😔 this was so disappointing. We ended up in Lake Charles instead of New Orleans for Labor Day weekend due to the weather. Found this spot through Google & we are so glad we stopped! The vibe was everything Grown! It's not a big spot, but it was clean & the DJ was DJing! The lemon pepper wings & fries were the bomb, but the best part about it all was the bartender, Rose! If we could have brought her back to Houston, we would have. This spot & Lake Charles are lucky...
