Thai Lake Charles is an unpretentious place to go for delicious Thai food. It is clean and tastefully decorated in a minimalist way, and the people are welcoming and helpful. You order at the counter & pick up your eating utensils and napkins there. They bring your food to your table (& their cooks are on top of it). We've tried the green and the yellow curry soups (medium spice) and they are SO GOOD! Like, I am craving them today even though my husband & I both had appetizer portions for the past 3 days from purchasing a single bowl of each! In our two visits, we have liked everything we've chosen. Medium spice has us a bit sniffly, but in a good way! Oh, the first time we visited, we didn't notice, but last week my husband saw that there is a place for dishes to go (though they don't require it or even point it out). Hubby and I tried Thai LC for the first time today and will definitely be going back! I got the yellow curry w chicken, mildly spicy. This was my first time to have curry and I can honestly say I’m so glad I chose it. I’m critical about my meals and the flavors here were super. The curry had an underlying sweetness from the pineapple and coconut milk combined w a gentle kick from the crushed red peppers. The potatoes, carrots and onion were done just through. The bowl was loaded w a delicious sauce and chicken pieces as well. It came w white rice on the side. It was steaming hot off the stove.

The Tom Kha soup was fantastic, perfect amount of cilantro and the chicken and vegetables were perfectly cooked. Green Curry was flavorful. Just be aware that if you're a wimp about spice, moderate may be too much for you. I had my soup mild-moderate, and it was the perfect amount of spice (just enough to taste but not to need extra water). The mango sticky rice was delicious, the mango was very fresh and perfectly ripe, I think the sticky rice would have been a little better earlier in the day instead of nearly closing time.
