When we walked in, we seated ourselves in a nice semi populated area by the dart board and pool table. The table was sticky as it was drying from being cleaned recently by the looks of it. We waited for a menu and silverware which came awkwardly late. Ok, it was dinner time... Things happen. We figured things would get better. They didn't. Sat and waited a while.. no one came to say hi, or for our order. Finally a waitress comes and we ordered cokes. When they came to the table, we we're served a glass of ice w a little coke inside. Drank them over a bit of time.... The salad came out, and we still didn't have silverware. (This awkwardness all is about 20 to 25 minutes in. We just felt like an afterthought, like we were crashing a party. We had a basic, light on flavor garlic bread served (not what you'd expect from a self proclaimed Italian restaurant). We ate a bit of that for a while. Got a second round of drinks served. Another 10 to 15 mins roll by and our dinner gets served as we ordered basically when we got our drinks. The best part of this whole dining experience was our drinks got refilled at a decent rate. Still no silverware though.... The waitress then brings us some, blaming some other girl for us not having silverware this whole time. I ordered a Navajo burger, with bacon, all veggies but the pickle on the side and ketchup and mustard, w a side of bbq. I got a burger w all veggies on the burger, no bacon and it was cooked, but lukewarm at best. The meat was flavorless, and had very lite mayo, ketchup and mustard (maybe the cook was relying on the condiments for flavor). I still ate it and boy do I regret it! (Been awefully sick all night long since I ate that burger!) The sweet potato fries I had we're bland at best. My husband ordered chicken parmesan. I tasted his... It was warm, but tasted overly salty and nothing really special about it. As we both were super hungry we ate the meals and decided to never come here again as in all the expierence was bland and awkward. It's a shock as the parking lot always makes this place seem busy. I did notice on my way out, most everyone had ordered the pizzas. Maybe they had all the actual flavor that was missing from our meals? Save your money and dine elsewhere is my opinion. Side note, the 2 times I used the rest room, I noted a few of the tiles in the ladies room were completely missing. There was a small hole in the stall wall and the warm water was always cold. I note this as the holes creeped me out and temperature issues was a common theme of the night. Not worth a visit for a burger or...
Read moreI get the impression this place was much better at one time. We walked in the front door and there are two sides. The formal dinning room to the left and the bar side to the right. We entered the left side and waited more than a minute without anyone acknowledging us so we went to the bar side. Seating was odd. We ended up at a table that had another table 3 feet above us next to us with only a glass partition in between. Got a nice view of a guys legs from an unflattering angle.
I ordered clam chowder and scallops. My girlfriend got the rib eye. She said that it was alright. I'll leave it at that. After a while our server came back and stated that the clam chowder was sold out but they had minestrone. Not what I was looking for. I opted for no soup. My $18 scallops came out. They were 4 silver dollar sized scallops. I felt they were under cooked and certainly were not well prepared. I told my server that I did not like the scallops. I stated that I would pay for my girlfriends meal but did not want to eat mine. Our server was gracious but someone that I assume was the manager came out shortly thereafter. She brought a meat thermometer to show me that the scallops were cooked to proper temperature.
So, I was done before this. Just wanted to pay for my girls meal and our drinks and leave a good tip. I'll be honest. This little bit of theater just pissed me off. First of all it was offensive. I paid for my girls meal and our drinks. I never asked for anything for free. I just wanted to pay and be done without paying for a meal that I did not eat.
Once the manager showed me that the thermometer read 161 degrees on a scallop that had already been served and had sat on my plate while I prepped my baked potato then realized that I found the scallops to be unpalatable and then sent them back and then several minutes later were brought back to my table to show me that they were cooked to temperature...well at that point I was more than done. How does a silver dollar sized piece of food hold temperature for that long?
Needless to say I will not go back. Weird layout. Didn't seem too clean. Wait staff seemed nice. After that...nope,...
Read moreThis was our second visit. The first one was enjoyable but last night not so much. We were asked if we had a reservation when we arrived ( which we did not). The hostess said it would be 30 minutes but never put us on the list until we explicitly asked her to. Then, she said check w the other side to see if they had a table . We grabbed a drink at the bar and asked the hostess on the other side and she seated us right away. She was very helpful. Once seated, we were never given water and several items we asked for were never delivered ( water, ketchup etc). By the time I received the beer I ordered with my meal I was done with said meal. I was able to let that go because it was busy and I’ve been a server- we all have those nights . However, when I looked at the bill ( that we were hastily handed without being offered coffee, dessert etc) after we left I saw my filet was $52 ( price wasn’t listed on menu). I am fine paying up for prime steaks etc. This honestly was something you’d by on sale at Jewel. It was prepared well but not great quality. I looked online and the filet was listed at $36 so I called to inquire which is way out of character. The woman who answered asked someone else how much the steak was. She yelled back $49. I was still shocked because it was not a $49 cut of meat and my husbands blue gill, which looked much better, was $20. When I explained we had been charged more she didn’t even apologize. She snapped and said what’s your address…. I’ll mail $5 back to you. Even when I was in college in the hospitality industry, I knew not to be rude to customers. I could get over the overpriced, mediocre steak if the woman was a bit less rude or service was decent . And, Im unsure why the price wasn’t listed. Maybe an off night, but I definitely...
