I will start by saying that I have been in customer service and restaurant work and everytime I have a negative experience I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, there are times that things are just so egregious and the people so oblivious that I can't help but be compelled to give a negative response...
My group and I arrived a little before 11 a.m. on 04/19/2025. There were people sitting in the middle tables and a few at the bar top. I wouldn't call it extrememly busy. There were maybe 4 - 5 tickets up on the holder. My family and a friend with her kid(who patiently had to wrangle him for this whole time) came in to order a few drinks and bagels. We ordered the salmon bagel.
According to my transaction I paid for my order at 11:01 a.m. my friend had ordered before us. We did not leave with our bagels that we ordered until after 11:40 a.m. There was a young couple that ordered food after us and they got their order and left BEFORE us. The people that were sitting at the tables didn't get their orders till 20 - 25 minutes AFTER we got there.
Again, I try to give the benefit of the doubt but to HIDE behind a sign and say that you make things fresh and I am only getting a bagel with cream cheese, a few fixings and salmon and it's going to take you 40 minutes to make is absolutely ridiculous.
When I asked the young lady that was there, how much longer it would take(we thougth we would have enough time to be there by 12 for an appointment)
She smugly pointed to the sign and said "We make things fresh".
I said it's been over 30 minutes!
She rudely said "It's coming" and turned around.
Some sort of apology would have been nice, none was given!
I will say that I have expressed my thougts on the matter to many of my friends already and now posting this review.
I do not find this acceptable at all and will not allow my hard earned money to go to a pretentious coffe shop that doesn't care or offer apologies when they are behind and provide poor and rude service to people.
Another point is the drinks were relatively fast and the food quality was good. But you cannot provide a sufficient enough explanation to me as to why it takes 5 people behind the counter over a half hour to make extremely easy to make food, and then you act rude when asked why it's taking so long
Hopefully, this saves many people a lot of wasted time going to this shop. Do yourself a favor and try...
Read moreI’ve been here a few time. 1st time just for coffee, it was just okay. 2nd time for drinks and appetizer. Great experience. We did sit at the bar. Not very busy. Service was good. 3rd time just the other day during happy hour on a Wednesday. Not super busy, did get busier later. Only one employee that I ever saw (possibly a cook in back?) Anyhow the server was very sweet. She was brand new. She let us know if we wanted pizza there was only one dough left?? Ok weird, we weren’t ready to order food yet but we wanted that Pell pizza so we told her to save it for us. 1 st round drink came fast but the 2nd and 3rd were slow. The poor girl working was taking orders, making all the drinks and serving all the tables by herself. We finally had to go inside to bar and reorder a round. We did get a pizza and it was very good. I think this place could be amazing and would probably be busier if the service was improved. The waitress even let us know the kitchen takes a long time because everything is made from scratch. I appreciate that it is but they need to work on streamlining that time. I cook for a living so I know it can be done. Also they have a limited appetizer menu and they were out of hummus...
Read moreCame here for brunch and it is such a cute atmosphere. Big fan of the different types of glasses and the cozy patio. I try to visit new cafes around KC when I can and this was my first impression so take that as you will.
Food: We got breakfast items and coffee. Everything tasted okay and I love that they use healthy and homemade ingredients, the salad was too healthy and VERY green. Some people might like that but its basically spinach with vinegar and oil. The Quiche was great though! Their cafe drinks seemed a little off but that is comparing to other coffee shops.
Confusion: I do think that the experience gets a little muddled with how many services they do, It's not a bad thing, they just might lack in a few areas and excel in others. From what I could see they have a full coffee bar, full bar/wine menu, ice cream/milkshakes and protein health shakes, pastries, brunch items, sandwiches and pizza, but all homemade? Its a lot to take in and while I am not complaining, Its almost too much. I feel like the over arching theme is health foods?
Overall: A super cute place to get a coffee or cocktail, can't vouch for the brunch food...
