I have been going to this restaurant for more than ten years. However, yesterday experience was just ridiculous. What business, goes into business not to make money.. If you visit Thaicoon you will experience how the manager yells at customers, is very impatient, and is rude as hell. Here is my experience I arrive at 1:10 p.m. my waitress took my drink order and return with my water 20 minutes later. After she put the water on the table another 20 minutes went by before I had to flag her down just to take my order. 30 minutes later my food arrive on my table by the manager. Oh by the way, my soup order never came until I told the manager I never received my soup. The waitress totally ignored all her tables. This is what the waitress was doing instead of waiting on her tables, she was tell every customer that walked in the door "we are unstaffed and the kitchen is back up for hour and half so we can't take you today." The waitress and manager turned away 12 different parties. What business turn money away??? And the restaurant was not packed. I asked the manager does she read the restaurant reviews she reply " no I don't read the reviews but my brother does." "It is not a big deal!!!." Not big deal!!! When the manager makes customer's walk on pins and needles just to talk to her. The manager is very aware they are in unstaff and continue to run this business the same way. It's that the definition of insanity. I don't care how good the food is or how long a business has been operating. People will stop paying this restaurant for BAD TREATMENT. I.e. Sports Authority, Ale House, and Kmart just to name few.. I will be visiting Thaicoon again just see if the manager has time to read the restaurant reviews and change her degrading and condensing attitude that flows from her lack of leadership ability on to her staff....
Read moreIf I can give negative stars I would... The owner is the most unfriendly business owner I have ever come across. A co-worker and I went there for lunch and I ordered something 2 stars. It was so spicy that I nearly choked (and I love spicy food). I even had my co-worker taste it and she also nearly choked and she said it ruined her taste buds for her own lunch. When it was rought to the owner's attention that it was too spicy and I couldn’t eat it, she said it was 2 starts and I didn't know what I was talking about. I tried to tell her that I have had that dish 2 stars there on prior occasions and it was NEVER that spicy. She basically started yelling at me that I didn't know what I was talking about. She did say she would have it remade but then when she walked away she made some very nasty comments. I told her to forget it and take it off the bill. She started yelling that I didn't know what I was talking about regarding ordering the same dish before because I couldn't remember the exact name of the dish when I ordered it (I didn't look at menu bc I was rushing to order). I asked her why she was yelling at me and being so rude when I just wanted new food because it was EXTREMELY spicy and I was the "customer." The waitress, again who was the owner, was extremely rude and loud about it. She told us to pay and GET OUT... and that they have enough business and don’t need ours. Even as my co-worker was paying for her own lunch, the owner was getting nasty with us and when my friend told her not to talk to her like that, she again YELLED to GET OUT and not to come back. Even as the owner walked over to seat additional customers who had walked in, she kept repeating to us about not coming back. Too bad, because we go there quite often but the owner’s attitude left something to be desired....
Read moreI have been coming to thaicoon since I was six years old. 20 years later and today will be my last time ever going back. I came in for dinner and was greeted by an angry server who was visibly and audibly unhappy to have to clean a table for us to sit. I ordered the same thing I’ve ordered every time that I’ve eaten in ordered or out from Thaicoon - soy sauce noodles with fried tofu and chicken, 2 stars. Spicy enough to clear the sinuses but not enough to be inedible. Tonight it was so incredibly hot it was beyond inedible. Left me feeling like I could breathe fire. I figured it just be because I upset the waitress by coming in during the dinner rush? I tried to fight through the heat but couldn’t bear it after a few bites. I asked the other server if It would be possible to have a new one made since this was unlike the heat I’d ever experienced in my past orders. He was hesitant initially but seeing that if taken less than 5 bites, he agreed to send back and make a new one. Within minutes I could hear screams from the kitchen from what was presumably the chef and possibly the first server: “I’ve never seen her before in my life! She doesn’t know anything!” over and over. So loud that we not only could hear clearly, but were made so uncomfortable we knew we needed to leave. So we did. We paid and we tipped just as we would have if the service was as it should have been. But we will not be back. What a shame that we were not worthy of an ounce of respect. I’ve never written a yelp review before but this was such a horrific experience I felt it...
