An hour ago, I ordered an Italian dinner entree, to pick up for tonight from Venezia. I chose my entree from their online menu. I ordered the "Baked Veal Parmigiana" (which reflects: "Veal Entrees ....Our veal entrees are served over pasta with garlic bread") for $25.99; I switched the spaghetti sauce on the "pasta" to Garlic and Oil for which I was charged an additional $3.00, and under "special instructions", I requested "Heavy on the Sauce". Although the menu did not provide a choice of pasta, it turned out that default pasta is angel hair, which I believe is terrible pasta for garlic and oil, because it's meant to be served on fettuccine or linguine. I also ordered a side of Italian sausage, that the menu reflects exactly "Side of Italian Sausage (3) $8.50", and lastly, a "Jumbo" Cannolli, for $6.99. Since it's a to go order, I am driving home and back to pick up the order, so although I am not taking up a table on a Saturday night, nor will they have to serve me, use their plates, glasses, serving ware, bring me the food, refill my water and use their grated cheese, oregano and other condiments, I will unavoidably leave a mess that requires the table to be cleaned, floor to be swept, linen napkins and table cloth, changed and washed, they charge me a $2.00 "convenience fee", Please explain to me what was so convenient for me, that you're charging me this fee. It's not like these pizza and Italian restaurants even provide free delivery anymore, but I hate nickel and diming. Anyway, my total was $49.60, not including cash tip. Fine, I am willing to pay well to treat myself to a nice dinner and eat well once in a while. Forget that dinner entrees no longer include soup, salad, unlimited bread, free delivery, etc., but I expect the restaurant who sold me a $50 dinner to deliver what they promised.First, the three sausage links were each about 2" long!! An Italian sausage link is between 6" - 6.5" long, not 2" - 2.5" long!! It looked like the sausages were half eaten and left on someone's plate!! See the photos!! When I called Venezia with my concerns, I was told they buy their sausages in long sections and cut the "links" per order... BUT, 2" links! Please!! They need a new ruler. Next, although I requested "heavy sauce" the 3-4 ounces of angel hair spaghetti had nearly no sauce or sliced garlic! The pasta was so dry it had the consistency of a stringy sponge. See the photos! Do you even see any oil on the bottom of the aluminum container?? Where's the garlic?? Obviously, anyone knows that olive oil would naturally coat the bottom of the shiny aluminum container as well as glisten off the spaghetti. There should also be a lot of sliced garlic that is a lightly brown color all over the spaghetti. Again, I paid extra for this and they didn't even use linguine or fettuccine. Lastly, the "garlic bread" was one, very dry, very cold, tough garlic knot. I couldn't even bite into it!! I'm not exaggerating. See the photos. I used to love this place when I lived in the neighborhood nearly four years ago, but I can't believe how poorly the food preparation and ridiculous portions have gotten, as well as "nickel and diming" customers who're already paying an average $50.00 for a single entree, with one side and a regular dessert is just bad...
Read moreI came because I saw a delicious pasta pomodoro on the Website. When I got there I wasn't greeted. I ended up walking to the bar and asking for a table. There are maybe 5 people on the restaurant total.
I chose a seat and my serve put a menu down in front of me and asked what I wanted to drink. I asked for water. I asked her for the specials or most popular dishes. She pointed at the menu and said it was good then walked away. When she came back with the water, I asked about the pomodoro I'd seen. She said that I could substitute any pasta in any dish and showed me the penne pomodoro with vegetables and other items. She said there were no specials that I could choose from the menu in front of me. I choose the eggplant rollatini and bruschetta. She told me I would get a roll with my meal. I thanked her. She did not introduce herself, I did not get so much as a smile. But, I have been a server and I can understand that some servers get overwhelmed with single guests for fear of low tips.
The bruschetta came up quickly and it was very savory and delicious.
About 15 min in a 7 top came in. She greeted them, ran them through the menu and then a specials menu appeared. I looked through the room at the the other 2 tables and realized that she may be just forgot to mark my specials. My food came out and it was very tasty. I didn't care much for the unbreaded texture of the eggplant, but it was cooked well and tasted fresh.
My server made it a point to touch the other tables and even brought soup and salad with their meals. I quietly took a phone call, and then when I got off. I asked for my bread roll.
I sat alone and in the quiet with no interaction from my server. A few other 2 tops came in. They were greated and the specials covered with them. I'll admit was disappointed.
I crossed my silvers and waited (I was right next to the kitchen). About 10 minutes later I asked her for a box and she placed it on my table and did not offer desert or my check. She touched the other tables and then completed a few things. I waited patiently. I saw her in the kitchen and waved her down. I then asked to see the specials menu. She was irritated and put it on my table. There, indeed, was the pasta pomodoro with burrata I wanted.
I asked her for the check. She brought it and I had my card ready. She took it, ran it an dropped it off without so much as a "thank you" or "hope you enjoyed the food".
She was very kind to the other tables however.
According to the ticket her name was Rebecca G.
I was disappointed with the service, but the food was very...
Read moreI ordered pizza via DoorDash today and it arrived inedible. This was an outlier situation as I’ve always ordered from this restaurant for lunch and for my employees. I’ve never had a compliant about their food, pizza is great and so is their sandwiches and dinners. I’m leaving this negative review because of the Owner’s inability to effectively communicate to his customers.
When I received the pizza and saw the condition it was in (cold, shriveled up, extremely thin) – I knew something had to of gone wrong. I gave the restaurant a call to better understand if this was due to DoorDash or restaurant delays. I respectively, soft spoken, shared the situation and had asked if they knew what happened. The person working the front desk passed the phone over to the Owner. I again shared the situation at hand and the Owner begins to raise his voice–complaining about how long the driver took, how it was sitting on the top of the oven. The Owner then begins to rudely share how he only makes $2 a pizza after all the discounts, DoorDash fees, etc. and proceeds to give me an attitude and raise his voice.
The outcome of our conversation really bothered me to the point of writing this review because my employees love the pizza and food here and order as frequent as 3-4x a week and he treated me as if I was a disposable customer.
To the Owner: As being someone that worked in the Pizzeria industry for over 9 years, your response should have been this:
“I’m sorry to hear about the condition the pizza arrived to you. Thanks for being a loyal customer over this past year, something must have gone wrong on the DoorDash side because it sat on the top of the oven for a while before the driver came to pick it up. This is definitely a DoorDash related issue, I would recommend calling their support team so we can happily make you a new order.”
I've attached a YTD list of my DoorDash orders just for your restaurant. This is not including any of the orders conducted over the phone or by employees and visitors that I would recommend to your restaurant. Before saying ignorant statements about your profits on my pizza orders you should better understand the longevity...
