By far, the saddest meal you will purchase on the south side. If you have ever experienced eating outside the hood do not waste your time here. The place is odorless (no food aroma) when you walk in (the first clue). I commend the young brothas for establishing a positive business but sanitation and cook prep classes are necessary. This place is for locals who arent experienced eaters or tastebuds havent traveled more than a mile outside the southside. I waited 20 minutes for 8 tacos. Checked my order when I git to my car and EVERYTHING was Luke warm or cold but the cheese was melted...as if they stuck leftovers in the microwave but only long enough for the cheese to melt. After reheating at home everything was tasty (basic seasonings) but bothing was fresh which concerned me b/c I purchased 2 salmon tacos. I usually don’t leave reviews. Deli King is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the area. Especially happy that this is a black owned business along side other black owned businesses. The food is amazing and even with recent price increases it is still incredibly reasonable. However, everything else that comes with obtaining the food is terrible! The phone is rarely answered and sometimes they don’t follow listed hours of operation. Even using food apps like Uber Eats or DoorDash is a nightmare. Delivery drivers cancel on you because of how long it takes thus causing the quality of the food to go bad while waiting. Often times parts of the order are left out as well. I love their food! No doubt about that. My issue is that the menu is not consistent & they charge FOR EVERYTHING separate, but ALWAYS forget to give u what you asked for but sat up & charged U for it! They had a homemade vinegarette house dressing that I loved. I called one day to order a salad & the homemade dressing, the lady said they don’t have a homemade salad dressing. I’m like Ive gotten it w/ 2 orders before. She argued me up & down! And the women that take the orders, not really professional.
