Los Mangos Midway — Restaurant in Lake Township

👋🏻 Hey fellow Google Maps users! ☺️ This was my first time going to Los Mangos Midway. I didn’t know what to expect, but I always love me a place that sells ice cream, paletas, elotes, & more. i usually go to a La Michoacana, but I decided that I wanted to try a new place.

🍽️ Food/Drink Items: There was literally so many options to choose from. I was debating on getting a water-based strawberry paleta or getting 1-2 scoops of ice cream. I decided to get 2 scoops of ice cream and got chocolate & cookies n cream/oreo. It was phenomenal and the best combo ever! Chocolate Oreo hits different!

⭐️ Customer Service: I was greeted when I walked in and they took my order right away. The lady that took my order gave me 2 big scoops of ice cream. They didn’t have the prices posted for the ice cream, so I wasn’t sure how much it was going to cost. It costed around $8 to get 2 scoops of ice cream. Considering the portion I got, I would say it was worth it compared to other places like Baskin Robbins. They have a tablet in front of the register where you can sign by entering your phone number and earn points on every visit.

💪🏻 Overall Experience: Overall, I had a great experience coming to Los Mangos! I would definitely recommend getting their ice cream. The place was super clean and it wasn’t busy, so I came during a good day/time for a Saturday. I’m sure it will be hush during the summer time.

I always go here every week, order elote with very easy everything (but they always put extra) as if employee isnt paying attention to your order. I also asked for a scoop of vanilla and the ice cream was extremely hard so I asked if I could get a replacement, due to covid they couldnt take my ice cream back - understandable. But they tried charging me FULL price for the scoop. Very poor customer service. AC is never working either at that ice cream shop. Lets not forget how their fruit is always looking like its been sitting there and when you try to request fresh fruit from their fridge, they always try saying they "just took it out of the fridge" ......

Closing time is at 10pm, every time I have gone from 8:30-9pm they are out of the full menu including elote. Elote is a staple item that should be served until close. I walked in today at 8:30pm. Ordered elotes & was told there was none, a few more groups walked in and asked for elotes and was told the same. Owner is losing out on money for not serving all of the menu items through closing, or is it the workers not wanting to prep?
