Ohana Ice & Treats — Restaurant in Lake Township

I love this gem situated on the corner of 103rd street in Beverly for several reasons & it is time I post a review to let others know why. They have over 20 amazing shaved ice & ice cream flavors sure to satisfy anyone! Their shaved ice is tropically refreshing & they allow you to get creative & mix flavors together. I guarantee your mouth will immediately start singing! It's so hard to choose from the many ice cream flavors simply because they offer flavors not typically found in other ice cream parlors. I recently tried their Banana Pudding & I closed my eyes & was left speechless. It tastes like you're eating that Banna pudding from grandma's fridge right after a good soul food Sunday meal! It is delicious! Their Strawberry Cheesecake & some other dark chocolate Cappucino flavor will blow you away! The owners are very friendly, helpful & welcoming to every customer who walks in their doors. The husband & wife team make sure to greet you, make small talk, remind you of community events or simply offer suggestions on menu items all while providing service with a smile! They make you feel like family! Yes, there are many ice cream parlors in Chicago but LISTEN TO ME....none like O'Hana's!! As a Chicago foodie, who eats all over the city, I don't always get friendly service with a smile or always feel appreciated after visiting an establishment! But O'Hana's staff never disappoints & their cold treats are truly delicious!!

It's always an easy decision when my family & I are looking to satisfy our sweet crave on a hot, summer day in Chicago! NO QUESTION ABOUT IT... We will always make O'Hana's our choice....

Because, I’m Not From the area, I was in Chicago visiting family for a cookout. My friend and I randomly googled shaved ice/ice cream shops Ohana pops up and we decided to take the 20 minute drive to try it. Problem #1 we walked into the establishment and we weren’t greeted or welcomed in by none of the 4 employees behind the register/counter. Problem #2- while trying to view the menu to see what options were available, no physical menus were available just what was on the wall and the lighting makes it hard to view in the daytime 🙄 Problem #3 the young guy wearing braids walked over to help us but, kept smacking his lips, and rolling his eyes like something or someone was bothering him (not sure) but, his co worker had to ask him if he needed to step outside for some fresh air because of how he was acting n he simply said he was good. Overall, cute shop and my flavored ice was delicious but, needs to definitely work on customer service skills because, it can make or break a business. Indecisive about giving it another try...

I recommend this ice cream shop to my family after reading so many amazing reviews. We arrived at 7pm sharp, I got out of my car and the restaurant still had the open sign facing forward. The second I got the baby out of the car, the lady inside of the establishment walked to the door and quickly turned the sign around to closed. She did not say anything to us, both her and the male that was working with her to close the establishment, ignored us as we looked confused into the store. She even came to turn the illuminated open sign light off and did not acknowledge us. A couple had just left out of the building. Mind you, the hours on the website stated that they close at 9pm. After experiencing this, I do not plan on supporting this establishment.I will seek other gems within...
