Saw that this place has 4.5 starts so decided to give it a try. Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday a little bit past 12pm. The first thing to note if you're going to stop in here is that the parking lot is in the back. And there is plenty of parking. There is a door around the back, but you can also go to the front entrance on Pulaski. There wasn't many people when I arrived (5 in total including me). I walked to the front of the restaurants and let the front desk staff know that I was there and I was told to have a seat anywhere I'd like. One of the things that caught my eye was the gorgeous painting of the Aztec calendar. The colors are so vibrant! I sat in myself and the woman at the front desk introduced herself as Kathy and proceeded to provide me with a menu, utensils and water. She was very pleasant and shared with me that they were short staffed and that she wanted to apologize in advance. I ordered the chilaquiles with salsa verde and carne asada on the side. When my order arrived, I was shocked at how big the plate was. The carne asada was cooked to my liking (medium well) and so were my eggs (medium well). The chilaquiles were GREAT. I don't like it when chilaquiles are soggy and these were NOT - they had a crunch to them, which I really enjoyed. I want a fan of the rice, but I have to note that it wasn't horrible either. The beans were good and complimented the meal. Overall, I had a good meal and the service was GREAT. Kathy was very attentive and she sanitized the other two tables after they left. I highly recommend this place. I'll be back...
Read moreSo this was my favorite breakfast place for about 2 years and I have noticed in the last two months they have had different staff every time we visit. Today was unbelievably horrible-I ordered my breakfast with eggs over easy and toast buttered. Toast barely toasted and not buttered-ok happens sometimes BUT my eggs came scrambled with cheese the first time, waitress came over and I told her eggs were wrong I ordered sunny side up she took plate and came back with eggs over easy with cheese on top and both husband and I told her again just plain sunny side up and the third time they came over easy which at this point I was done. The rest of my breakfast was cold since she took the whole thing back each time and at this point my husband was almost finished eating. She was told no less than 4 times sunny side up and just couldn’t get it right. When she brought the bill they gave us a 10% discount ($3.30) at this point I think it should have been free to me and she should have paid the restaurant for their cost since that was 6 eggs. I am there every weekend and frequently twice bringing others with me. ...
Read moreI was early, the only one in the place. I was seated and had coffee, water, and placed my order. Then, a family of 4 came in and we're given the same prompt and courteous attention. During what seemed like a long wait my coffee got refilled twice and i was told "it's coming " twice. Then a few minutes later what comes out? a big tray with the order for the family of 4. Mine should be right up i was told. A few minutes later it came, unfortunately the bacon that I ordered crisp was obviously not. She asked if everything was OK and I said no, does this bacon look crisp. She can fix that she said but I was so aggravated I wasn't even hungry any more, so I said no thanks and left. Either the waitress didn't give the order to the kitchen, or the kitchen set it aside to work on the big order. Unacceptable. If it was a busy time I could give more leeway, but it was so early and I was the only one in there to start with. Just unacceptable. Too bad, the food is probably good................................ and management has no reply...... so a second try is also...
