Cafe Libra — Restaurant in Lake View Township

Cafe Libra My recent visit to Cafe Libra left much to be desired, despite the cafe's charming ambiance and a decent matcha latte. We arrived before the rush, hoping to order food, but unfortunately, we were never checked on after our drinks were served. We understood that they were clearly overwhelmed, so we patiently waited about 45 minutes after receiving our drinks, but no one ever returned to our table. Eventually, I went inside to close our tab for the two drinks. I also inquired if I could get my drink to go after realizing it wasn't sweet enough for my taste. The server's response was quite off-putting. She suggested I "should've asked for it to be more sweetened" and they "could've fixed it." I explained that I would have, had anyone checked on us, and reiterated that I understood they were busy. There was no need for her condescending tone, especially given my understanding of their busy situation. It's clear Cafe Libra was severely understaffed for a Saturday morning/noon rush, with only three people working. This led to a lack of service and a customer interaction that made me, the customer, feel at fault. While the cafe is cute and the matcha was good, the overall experience was poor due to the service and underpreparedness.

Yikes! Was so excited to come here after spotting on Instagram. Came on a Saturday & it was crowded. We waited in line & when we got to the front of the line were asked if we were dine in or to go. We said dine in & were told to take a seat. At the same time a couple girls came in from the patio & were told ‘oh, I’m coming back!’ That should have been a sign. We waited 20 minutes with nobody coming to check on us, take our orders, nothing, meanwhile the line is getting out the door. We left, disappointed & hungry. We ate down the street but I had to pass by on my walk home so I stopped in again. Only 2 people in front of me this time, less crowded. Somehow an iced latte is a dollar more than a regular latte, and for that and a piece of cake, I waited 15 minutes. The chocolate cake behind the glass looked delicious and there was a giant piece pre-cut. The slice that I received was half that size (a sliver!) for $5.50. It was dry & hard. Another disappointment. Everyone working there had panic in their eyes. Perhaps in the middle of the day on a Tuesday there is better service & moist cake, but wowee, on a Saturday rush,...

I really enjoyed the outdoor patio. Very cute and comfortable. The service was extremely slow and painful from beginning to end-- as if they didn't care to serve us. I tried to give the excuse that they were short handed or busy, but everyone else around us seemed to be moving along just fine. They took a bit to take our drink order, then didn't come back to take our food order after we told her we needed another minute to decide and when we went to ask if she could take our order, she said she thought we only wanted drinks. Then it took very long to get the food and mine came out before my cousins food did. Then her order came out unfinished because they forgot her salad so she told them she didn't need it anymore. Then when we went inside to pay, they didn't know our order and were only going to charge us for the drinks, so we had to explain that we also had food. The whole thing was very painful and the food and drinks were just okay, nothing special taste wise though the menu does have a nice diverse...
