Corner Crossing Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Lake Villa

My wife and I visited on a Friday night as we've been trying to seek out new places that we pass.

It's definitely a bar setting. I wouldn't say good for kids. Some video gaming machines and a pool table. There's a few tables for people to sit and then seats at the main bar. Seems most of those in the place knew each other...so a local place for sure.... Maybe why it seemed everyone looked at us when we walked in. Ha! Not a quiet place. It was hard to hear my wife without her having to yell, but honestly it's what you'd expect in this type of place. Only a few TV's on the walls....which I'd personally like to see a few more, especially if there are local sports on.

Food menu has a lot of stuff for such a little place. Waitress/Bartender was running back and forth. Did a nice job with all she had going on and was friendly. We had of course seen the "Best Burgers on 83 and Grass Lake" sign that has been there for a long while...so I had to try a burger....the Cowboy burger. My wife had the chicken sandwich. Both came out fairly quick and they we're good. My burger still had a little pink, so it was certainly about the medium that I ordered it. My wife said her sandwich was perfectly done. Both also came with good helpings of waffle fries. They could have been cooked a tad less, but still pretty good. Drinks were average price if what you see in the area.

Parking is definitely limited and folks were doing some creative things in the parking lot.

Overall, it was a pretty decent meal. Not the best burger I've ever had, but I'd certainly get one again. Might be fun to mix in with the local crowd a bit more. If you want some good food and an entertaining atmosphere, leave the kids at home and go on over and...

The food I ordered and what I paid for did not come together the same.

Burger was dry & very salty, I ordered seasoned fries and was given waffle fries with no taste and was told those are seasoned fries, they were not, also portion size was was not worth what I was paying for. I ordered the bur burger with the toasted bun on the side, bun was not toasted.

Have to pay attention to detail when making someones lunch, the onion was old and flimsy.

I know the sign outside says...Under New Ownership, but my lunch today was absolutely disgusting.

We came here a couple times when there was a different bartender and would give 5 stars for that. Also the food is great and priced really well. Lowered my rating because last time we were here the bartender offered us shots saying it was new and so good and I used to work as a bartender and typically when you offer someone a shot, it’s on the house with hopes they’ll buy another round of it. Instead we were charged like $8 a shot or whatever it was. Really turned me off and not sure we’ll be back which is a bummer since this is the...
