My family and I were so excited to try Dale's Seafood at Lake Waccamaw because we were told good things. Unfortunately it may have been the worst dining experience of this year. We went on a Friday night but there wasn't too long of a wait. My mom and I ordered a cup of chowder to start with however mine was refrigerator cold while my mom's was just warm. I told our server and she admitted they don't keep a pot of soup on the stove all day, they keep it refrigerated and heat up in the microwave when ordered. My mom ordered senior plate of shrimp which she liked but was still hungry when she finished. My uncle got a seafood platter which he thought was okay. And I ordered the stuffed flounder. When they served our main course mine did not make it. They told us it would be out shortly. Fifteen minutes pass, my mom and uncle finished their plates and I was still sitting there with nothing. They didn't even serve us hush puppies. Finally after I had lost my appetite and we were basically waiting on the bill they brought out my food. The server, which at this point was the third server we had explained they had one of their main cooks walk out. Again I was over it. I understand that can happen but a manager should have talked to us. It was highly unprofessional. We waited too long for mediocre food and as for me, no food. We will never step foot back in this place. And I recommend others to safely question eating here. Best of luck to this...

Most of the time i would have given this a 4. However, this trip the waitress was short and snappy with my friend. Who was trying to understand what he was ordering. Then a man came out from the back and stated the waitress was his daughter. He wanted to know if my friend had a issue with her. They both could have handled it better. As for the waitress and the cook. Also my friend could have been a little nice. You know how men are when they are attacked. Which is what the cook did when he came to our table treating the person with me. Like I we were trying to understand the menu. When the waitress brought out our food it was not what we told her (and tried to explain) that we wanted. She said and I quote "well that's what you ordered, so just eat it". At this point I walked out. Left my plate and all right there. My friend went up and paid for the meal that neither of us ate. That was a waste of money. Will not have anyone treat me that way. On top of her attitude the waitress had her father come out and make a huge seen in the dinning room. How RUDE! All I can do is...

We came here after visiting Lake Waccamaw and it was packed when we first drove by. We kept exploring the area and headed back after “lunch hours.” The food was good; typical fried seafood. Popcorn shrimp & clam strips were good. Fries were the crinkle kind. However, the restaurant was full of flies - normal for the south but still they could have done better controlling that and we sat by the window to see the lake and the blinds were dirty. Old building so don’t freak out when you go in. Our waitress was not very friendly. Idk maybe she was having a bad day. The wait time to get the drinks (water and sweet tea) was super long. Like 20 minutes to get drinks. And then waiting on food took forever. The salad bar bowls are soooo tiny like salsa bowl tiny. I thought we would have drinks and the hushpuppies while waiting for the food, but it all came out at the same time. Again, the food was good typical fried seafood but service was not great and honestly they need to work on cleaning the restaurant. I can’t stop thinking about how gross the blinds were...

My daughter and I will randomly do this thing where we just drive and take random turns and go until we find a place “new to us.” The other day we happened upon Lake Waccamaw and Dale’s. We decided we would return today to give it a try. Can I just say, the lake view by the parking lot is the most serene and beautiful view? The food was phenomenal! We’ve eaten seafood at a lot of places, and this restaurant has the absolute best fried shrimp and hush puppies I have ever tasted. My daughter said the catfish nuggets were so great that she wishes we would’ve ordered more. The prices are affordable and the portions are good. Because we did pick, up due to the virus, we didn’t get to see the inside, but the exterior gives you that “you’re at home” feeling. The young lady who took our order over the phone and later brought us our food was so kind and polite. It is great to see an establishment that has wonderful employees, because they make a huge impact on the customer. We live 40 minutes away, and I can’t wait to come back. Great job, Dale’s!!

First time eating at this place and will admit I don't know what the hype is. I came with some family while in the area. They said its was the best thing since sliced bread. Maybe because the people from this area haven't had better so this all they know. The food was extremely salty. I had to use cocktail sauce to cut the salt taste because I couldn't even eat the fried shrimp plain. I thought when I ordered the meal it came with a baked potato. Not fries. So I didn't eat the fries. The steak was okay. I ordered rare. Didn't seem rare, but maybe because it's a thin steak they couldn't get it the way I prefer. The free fried hushpuppies were good. And the salad bar was decent. I don't know if I would say the meal is worth $27. The tea I didn't order, but took because the waiter forgot my water was very sweet. If you like super sweet tea you'll like theirs. I hope you enjoy your meal here when you come, because I didn't.

Dale's seafood at the lake is an experience in itself I know there's one in whiteville and there's one in Tabor City but they just don't do it justice you have to go down to the lake where it belongs to just sit there and have a nice big hot oyster roast and to be able to look out over the water as it comes in and laps against the shore that is what I'm talking about that is what you call a quality establishment.. they go out of their way to make sure all of your food is prepared 100% properly and everything you want is to a tee and they do it every time and they have one of the best stocked salad bars of anywhere around here and it's kept clean and in order it is just absolutely fantastic and the people who work here are some of the nicest and best servers you'll ever deal with in your whole of existence and that says alot. (It was my birthday dinner I got me a oyster roast and it was absolutely phenomenal!!)
