New review- Dropped to 2 stars! ONLY FOR FOOD! Service is absolutely horrible! We were rushed through our meal, to the extreme! We came in 1 hour and 15 minutes before the closed. Plenty of time to eat and leave so they can clean. People!! I'm talking the waitress got drinks and stood by the table while we decided, her words exactly: "I can wait, I have nothing else to do!"- jaw dropping annoying and shocking! I even requested her to put our appetizers in and come back. Nope she still stood there! So, I winded up ordering a humongous burger that I could not eat bc I did not have time to read, absolute waste of 20 bucks because she rushed us. My mother and son didn't even get to take a bite of their burger b4 she was bringing bags and boxes! She dam near refused to get my child a slice of frozen cake "I'm afraid the kitchen may be closed.". WHAT!!!? CAN YOU CHECK? Then I got stern and she became even more passive aggressive, (ex. saying you're welcome b4 I said thanks and putting napkins close to my face, LOL). Ridiculous how the 2 things that are consistent here: horrible service and good food! Enter with caution people. Oh, and no one ever gets back with you on reviews so don't expect any changes any time soon or even any gesture to make it right! BTW I work in the food industry, they have no where near the level of service we provide. Im still in shock! Smh. We still tipped her even with her NASTY attitude!

Read moreI'm still not impressed with this establishment. For the first year that we lived in Lake Wylie this was the best place to go for burgers and service. I want to stress that this is our opinion only. Many locals still flock here and sing it's praises despite the growing competition. I have returned twice in the past three months. Once for table service and once for carry out. The food is not as good as it was in the past. Menus have changed but not for the better. Trivia has been taken away, which was a major draw for my circle of friends. We won't even go to Bingo on Wednesday because trivia is gone. Carry out I was informed would be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived 40 minutes later and waited an additional 15 to be greeted after many attempts and eye contact with both barkeeps. 10 minutes after that I received the order. This establishment is meant for locals who attend daily and weekly and have a relationship with bartender and management. I'm done with Sweetwater for good. I wrote a post similar to this a year ago or more and can't locate it here. If you want good service visit often and make friends with staff...
Read moreI arrived at the Sweetwater Sports Bar and Grill with a coworker at about 6 p.m. on a Saturday towards the end of September. There was no wait at that time but the place was starting to get busy. We were waited on right away and we found our waitress to be fast, efficient, and friendly. I ordered the Sweet Baby Ray's hamburger done medium well and it came out a little pink on the inside. I'm a little paranoid about mad cow disease in ground beef but that didn't concern me too much because I know they use high-quality Angus beef there, and the hamburger was delicious. I'm an IPA fan so I had a Wicked Weed Pernicious IPA in a bottle, then had a pint of River Rat Astronaut IPA on tap. They were both delicious in my opinion. My coworker ordered the 10 buffalo wings and could only finish half of them because they were gigantic. He also had ordered the Queso blanco chips prior to having dinner so that might have had something to do with it. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend trying...
