A Love Letter to Mimi’s Ice Cream 🍦💛
I don’t usually post about local drama, but I feel like I need to speak up for a place that means a lot to my family.
There’s been some backlash online toward Mimi’s Ice Cream recently…. a lot of negativity, reviews that seem dishonest, and just… more drama than any small business deserves. I don’t know the full story, but from what I understand, Mimi (the owner) politely asked a group of bikers not to park on the sidewalk due to safety concerns, and since then, things have taken an unfortunate turn. There’s even been vandalism and a break-in. I’m not making accusations, just heartbroken to see a place we love being treated this way.
Because here’s what Mimi’s is to us: My daughter has anaphylactic food allergies. Eating out is scary. Ice cream shops? always a no-go. But Mimi’s isn’t like other places. They take allergies seriously. They’ve created a space where my child can safely walk in, choose a flavor, and enjoy something as simple and joyful as ice cream without fear. That may not seem like a big deal to some, but to families like ours, it means the world. Truly. Mimi’s Ice Cream is about more than just treats. it’s about kindness, community, and creating a safe, inclusive space for everyone. And I think we need more of that, not less.
So if you’re in the area, maybe stop by. Try a scoop. Say hi to Mimi. Support a small business that’s trying to do things the right way even when it’s hard. We see you, Mimi. We appreciate you. And we’ve got your back. 💛🍦

Read moreI can’t believe this place has been here almost 2 years and I only recently found this gem. I was driving on S. Florida Ave. and was stuck in traffic when I looked over and seen the cute window characters and it made me curious. I went in and to my surprise it is a cute Italian Ice & Ice Cream shop. The owners are so welcoming and gave such good information on their products you can just see the passion they have in what they do. There are lots and lots of options and they make everything homemade. I myself have no restrictions with dairy or gluten but was willing to try my 2 samples one Ice and 1 ice cream and to my surprise the ice cream blew me away how good it was and that I wasn’t even able to tell there was no dairy or gluten in it. Me being from PA we love our water ice so I was so excited to find someplace local that has water ice like home or Italian ice as some call it but again I was blown away by the fact that it’s made with fruit and they even put small pieces of fruit in it. What a refreshing treat. I will absolutely be returning I can’t believe there isn’t a line out the door more people need to know about this little gem. I had the Coconut Italian ice, strawberry shortcake ice cream, strawberry Italian ice for a gelati and omg the flavors are amazing and I can’t wait to bring the family in. They definitely gained a...
Read more🥺😩PHENOMENAL! Absolutely phenomenal. The extraordinary flavors were out of this world and that is so hard to find!! Dragonfruit, passion fruit, grapefruit, strawberry kiwi were the most wonderful taste tests. Easily the best Italian ice I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. We stopped in on Saturday for date night and went back Sunday for pints to take home! Thank you thank you thank you!!! Eddie and Mimi you’ve got this down to a science🥳 Will definitely be back to try the purple sweet potato and lavender !🥹
UPDATE: 4 days later and another 45 minute drive up from Wesley Chapel for more Italian ice! I can’t help but continue to say how otherworldly Mimi’s Italian ice is. We had the pleasure of tasting the sour green apple while in store meeting with Mimi herself and singing their Italian ice praises. We escaped with a Passion fruit, a 1/2 price piña Colada and another strawberry kiwi pint to go and I honestly don’t understand why we didn’t get more because my passion fruit pint is almost gone. I cried happy tears in the car while savoring the lavender scoop we received and sad tears from having to share that scoop with my husband. I’m sure tonight I’ll be dreaming about the 1/2 gallon selections that we’ll be back to get soon enough🤤😩10 out of 10...
