Utterly ridiculous “incidental hold” of $400 if you’re a polk county resident.
All because this hotel rented rooms to bad people.
I was told over the phone that this wouldn’t be the case and when I walked in the door to check in imagine my surprise.
What a great policy the management at this establishment has come up with to solve a problem they created.
What a great way to do business. Punish upstanding reasonable guests by forcibly holding their money hostage for days because your staff can’t use good judgement on who they provide rooms to.
Thanks holiday inn. Thanks IHG.
I love that the management has replied to this and tries to absolve themselves of any wrong doing here. That’s just fantastic.
Here’s the thing. The people that came into your hotel and caused problems? Yeah. They were let in by staff YOU or other people management hired. Whose fault is that? Who messed up there? Was it the customer? Was it the staff? Was it the management? Hmmmm. Let’s do a little mature deductive reasoning here.
Seems like the owner might need to do a little deductive reasoning too. Maybe think a little harder about who they are hiring and putting in charge of staffing their hotel. Maybe taking more time thinking over the writing of responses to Google reviews.
Shifting blame onto customers isn’t a good business model. It’s morally bankrupt behavior. Your entire industry is propped up by bad debt. I hope you enjoy the next few years because the hotel industry as a whole is a...
Read moreStay away unless you enjoy sleeping while getting suffocated with VERY heavy toxic perfume smells. I have been a member for a while and this must be a new thing that ALL Holiday Inn’s have started to do, but frankly it’s become too annoying for myself and my family. We will no longer stay and support hotels that poison their guests. The second you enter the Holiday Inn you get slapped with a heavy cheap smelling perfume. You enter the room and it’s the same story, even worse, there are absolutely no windows for you to get any fresh air. We did not get any rest as I was swallowing perfume all night long and my husband’s throat was irritated. How can one relax at your hotel when their eyes and throat burn from your “scents” that’s you’re spraying in through the vents?! The manager stated that the level of perfume they spray is “as per their hotel guidelines.” The manager was very polite and helpful, she got us another room, but it smelled just as bad. Nothing the staff can do since this is out of their control. If the head owners read this comment, my questing to you is why would you poison your guests like this? What’s the goal here? It’s not relaxing, it’s not therapeutic and ITS NOT NECESSARY. You’re disrupting everyone’s hormones and health. Shame on you. After leaving the hotel, the scent continued to linger in my nose, throat and entire body for the remainder of the day, anything I drank had a hint of the hotels perfume. Worst stay ever. Definitely...
Read moreThe hotel is clean, which is what sold me. Rooms are spacious, giving you a mirror inside and outside the bathroom area, which is very handy for getting several ready at the same time. The hotel overall appears in great shape, renovated nicely. However, the rug in room still gave off a damp odor when first entering room. However, once the ac kicked in, it dissipated. The ac was LOUD. If a light sleeper that will keep you up at night every time it kicked in in the evening. The bed was very comfortable and welcoming to sleep. Service could be improved. I came in with a group of 11, having reserved 4 rooms in advance. So I asked to be put on the same floor as the rest of my group and was told that my room was pre-assigned, so I was put on a separate floor from my group, making connections a bit more challenging. I thought my request was a minimal ask and could have been honored easily, but the hotel check-in host didn't budge, not a friendly welcome. Another bad service call -- my group ordered pizza and opted to use the breakfast dining area to eat together and was given the ok as well as HANDED A BOTTLE OF CLEANER when doing so -- not the best hotel etiquette. That aside, the hotel is located 7 minutes from the center of town with plenty of options in restaurants, fast food and major supermarkets. Very...
