Adams Rib Pit Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Lakeport

I hate to give this place a four-star rating and only a three for the food, but here’s my reasoning. If your business name has “Rib” in it, the ribs should be absolutely amazing—and that’s where my issue lies.

For me, good ribs should hit a certain level of tenderness—not so soft that they completely fall off the bone when you pick them up, but tender enough that you don’t have to fight to get the meat off. Unfortunately, these ribs lacked that perfect tenderness and required more chewing than I expected.

That said, I’ve eaten a lot of their other barbecue items—like the sausage and turkey—and they’ve all been fantastic. Everything else has been spot on. The service is excellent, and the big guy cooking in the back is super friendly.

Bottom line: If “Rib” is in your name, your ribs should be the best I’ve had anywhere. They’re good, but they just don’t live up to...

The lady at the window seemed to be having a bad day when simply asking how we order without knowing the price of things (they changed the board bc prices change so much, understood), and then requesting a printed menu with prices was way above her willingness to keep it professional without huffing and eyerolls.

The manager, however, was extremely accommodating and professional as I requested for that lady to step aside before I spend $30+ dollars on a bad attitude. No one orders anything without knowing the price but she claims everyone infact does and "never asks".

The manager did guide me within 15 seconds that they have a menu online - so I pulled it up and quickly ordered what I wanted WITH pricing.

15 minutes couldve been 5. Does she know the menu is online?

1st time visitor and I was just a bit baffled. My town doesn't have a bbq place so the next closest was this place which was 30-35min out. I get there thinking my order was already packed and ready to go but it was never set up. My guess is that they might not have a hot box to keep to-go orders. They weren't busy at all & I couldn't understand why they were so easily confused and unorganized. The food however was okay. The ribs were fine, the green beans were questionable and the potato salad was confusing. Not everybody can make traditional potatao salad. It had olives in it and I hate olives. Too much mayonnaise.
