Spudz — Restaurant in Lakeport

Was driving through Lakeport and was excited to check this place out! I love baked potatoes and usually get loaded ones where offered.

First off, the location itself is awesome. Great vibes and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I can see a lot of potential in this place.

The food, however, was a little lacking. I ordered a fully loaded spud with chicken and my wife got hers with burger. I was disappointed in the lack of topping and while I’m sure I could have maybe went and asked for more, I don’t think that should be necessary. I received one scoop of butter, one prepackaged sour cream, so little cheese I was barely certain it was even on there, and maybe a chicken finger’s worth of chicken. My wife’s was no better. For the same price, I can go to bodacious and get a quarter pound of meat and as much cheese, sour cream, and butter is needed to load it out. My wife ended up leaving half of her spud uneaten because it was dry without the sufficient amount of toppings.

My wife mentioned that she thinks they are probably more well known for their pizzas and burgers, which might be true, but idk if that’s an excuse to be lacking on a third of your menu (and your namesake, nickname or not). I also forgot to mention that they ran out of spuds while we were there at around 12:30.

Once again, the people working were great, the vibes were there, the food we ordered just happened to fall short of my expectations. I would like to try their pizza or burgers, but I’m not sure I’d drive all the way there to...

I must give a shoutout to Spudz and owner Corey Eason. I had the privilege of eating there twice this weekend while at Lake Cherokee! Night one I had pizza...it was great...fresh, great ingredients and hot. The crust was good as well. Night two...I arrive around 9:05pm..5-minutes after close and Corey greeted me at the door and graciously insisted on making me a burger and fries....who does that? The burger was great...patty was thick and the bun was fresh. Corey also sat down and visited with me while I ate....love the personal touch And did I mention, their homemade chocolate cookies with sea salt are amazing. Corey and his team have a passion for friendly and excellent customer service, great food and a local, welcoming environment...I highly recommend! Thank you, Corey.... keep pushing to challenge every other restaurant business model...it will continue to serve you extremely...

This was my second time trying the place. Both times the Tea has had this odd Wang to it like maybe the last batch was going bad and didn't get all the residue out or something idk. Had to swap to soda both times. The first time me and a coworker stopped in and were ready to try the spudz baked potatoes. Sold out, no biggie got a pizza. It was good. However the second time I was with my wife and as soon as we walked in the door the staff seemed put off that we were dining in. Had a burger, no complaints on it. Overall I think it can be a good place if they can do something about the tea, and not look disappointed and put off when people...
