Up the Creek Tavern — Restaurant in Lakeside

After searching “Bar near me” on Google Maps and exploring Ten Mile Lake, I stopped by this place for a beer. While I was drinking, I ended up chatting with a guest at the next table who turned out to be the county campground manager. The food being served looked delicious, so I decided to order—and the burger and French fries were excellent. They mentioned that they don’t keep the fryer running constantly, but instead heat it up fresh when an order comes in, which probably explains the clean, crisp flavor. I enjoyed the fries so much that I ordered an extra serving. It feels like a classic local dive bar, and I heard they even host karaoke nights. Used to go to the creek a lot got tired of a few things stopped going. Went back over the last month or so. Nothing changed , little worse actually. It's a dive just a close one for me. Gave an unfavorable review and was 86ed. It's ok I wasn't going back. The best place in lakeside is Osprey. It's cleaner. Lots of people from all over. Friendly! All previous reviews are outdated. I typically do not leave reviews, however, this establishment deserves a review. Ordered burgers and fries to go. Too much mayo, ketchup, and mustard on the burgers, which made them very sloppy/wet to eat. Fries were typical food service quality, nothing special. Walked in, sat down and waited. No one came with menus, so finally went to bar to inquire. Was told had to order at the bar and menu was on a chalkboard. Felt we were bothering wait staff when we ordered. Very stale odor in bar....
