To anyone wondering - GET LA GORDIBUENA AS YOUR CATERER!!! You will NOT regret it đ
La gordibuena has been me and my familyâs favorite Mexican restaurant in Austin ever since it opened! And keep in mind, we were born and raised in Mexico! If you want authentic, this is where you go! Now, everything on the menu is delicious. The Al pastor tacos are to die for, as are their chilaquiles, and barbacoa tacos! Their drinks are phenomenal as well, I love their frozen margs!
It was really cool because my husband and I recently got married, and we asked La Gordibuena to cater for our rehearsal dinner - and to say they did an EXCELLENT job is to put it lightly! They far exceeded our expectations - they brought staff to make our tacos on site and as fresh as they could be - they brought for different kind of excellent meats - white corn (a fan favorite! Even my husbandâs family who are all American were going crazy for it!!!!), the margaritas with all different flavors - I mean, our rehearsal dinner was such a HIT and it was because La Gordibuena outdid themselves. Everybody, Mexican family and American, told us just HOW MUCH they loved their dinner.

After yelling several âNOsâ and hand gesturing, she âarticulatedâ that they now sold beer and wine and we werenât allowed to bring our own. To which I responded âoh, I didnât know you sold wine hereâ and proceeded to take our bottles to the car. If she had had better manners, and wouldâve been able to articulate that information in a more welcoming way we wouldâve understood right away and probably bought mimosas for the whole table and had a good time. Instead we ate our meal feeling so unwelcome, uncomfortable and I with no desire to go back...
