I would have given this new restaurant 3 stars under normal circumstances but it excelled in a few areas. Explanation below.
Great: Customer service and speed. My cashier was friendly and helpful. She got me out in less than 5 minutes
Good: My breakfast burrito had fresh ingredients. It didn't taste like it was made of cheap ingredients, preprocessed. The restaurant was clean.
Neutral: About $3 per 8" burrito. Not a great price considering the underwhelming taste and the many places in Denver that have much better fare at half the price. Also, no public restrooms.
Bad: I had a chorizo breakfast burrito. It would have been more accurately been described as a potato burrito. The chorizo and egg were barely present. There was a pleasant amount of heat but no other hint of spices or herbs, not even salt or pepper. Fresh ingredients are awesome but not if they taste like Golden...
Read moreJust stopped in here for the first time and got one of each of their pre-made breakfast burritos, bacon, sausage, chorizo. I asked them if they were marked so we would know which is which when I got home and the young woman said yes. They are marked 1, 2, 3 so I had no idea which was which like I'm supposed to remember or know what level each one is on? I really wanted sausage and took a chance and opened 1 and it turned out to be bacon. It was really good but I think they can mark them B, S, C for better clarification. Not sure about the other two yet - someone else in the house is getting my sausage. As for the not wearing masks, I don't mind. When I get food from places where they are wearing masks, I often see employees pulling them up and down, touching them and that grosses me out more than a place where they are not...
Read moreThis place used to be great, I'd go every morning for two #1s. I noticed in recent months though, things have declined. I keep trying to tell myself it's a one off thing and next time will be better, but I can't fool myself anymore. Burritos used to be big and overflowing with egg and cheese. Now they are just mainly potato filled and flaccid. The flavor has changed as well, the spices used are just...different now, sort of an off-putting curry flavor I'm not a fan of.
I dunno if inflation hit too hard and they had to start cutting corners, which Id understand. Spices are expensive, and potatoes can stretch out a meal a lot further than eggs and meat, but the sad burritos coming out of this place really speak for themselves. I know that the owner doesn't respond to negative reviews, but I want them to know they...
