Holy dradle, it's time for bagels! (and donuts, croissants & sandwiches, too)
Cassidy's Corner Cafe, conveniently located adjacent to the 605 freeway, on the border of Lakewood & Cerritos. Just a stone's throw away from where I live, I was feenin for some carb goodness & decided to stop by to see what Cassidy's has going on.
Bagels, donuts & croissants in various flavors greet customers when they walk in.
Fresh brewed coffee available for a caffeine boost.
Cassidy's currently has a special - $6 for a Red Velvet bagel with sweet butter cream cheese & an iced 4-2-1 coffee.
The Red Velvet bagel was soft & chewy on the inside, with a dense outer crust. The sweet butter cream cheese was silky smooth. Quite filling & very flavorful! ($1.25 individually, w/o cream cheese)
The iced 4-2-1 coffee is 4 parts double-brewed orange coffee, 2 parts half & half and 1 part vanilla syrup. Not bitter at all, this was a great cold drink that didn't hurt the tummy like how other strong coffees can. The notes of orange paired well with the half & half, along with the shot of vanilla.
I was allowed to sample some of their various cream cheeses - jalapeno, garden & strawberry. If those don't pique your interest, Cassidy's also offers "Creative Cream Cheeses", where customers customize their very own cream cheese, with ingredients such as Oreos & almonds!
Having families in mind, the bagel shop has a kids zone on the right. "Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs" was playing for customer's enjoyment (Yes, that's my truck in the background)
Service was good. The employee kindly answered questions I had & quickly prepared my order, toasting my bagel & mixing my iced 4-2-1. Seating is sufficient, with some tables to dine al fresco. Parking is in private lot shared by 7-11.
Cassidy's, you're now my local spot when I'm hunting for a bagel. Before arriving, I was flip-flopping between ordering a Red Velvet or Lox bagel, but when I saw the Yelp special, the Red Velvet tractor beam sucked me right in SWWHOOOOOOPP. The Lox will have to wait for next time ;p
Highly...
Read moreStopped by for a quick bagel and blended coffee drink. I really liked the convenience of their online menu so I was able to pick my food before I arrived. The website worked great on my iPhone so that was a plus. Upon arrival I was promptly greeted by several workers and I quickly gave my order for 2 bagels with cream cheese and a Heath blended coffee. Unfortunately they were out of Heath so I got caramel. It was a little sweet for my taste and the bottom was full of ice. The bagels however were excellent so I could forgive the coffee drink. Oh and I also got 2 donuts which are provided by a partner of the owner. I must say I ate one of the best maple bars I've ever had! So bagels and donuts A+, coffee drinks B. I'm sure I'll...
Read moreCute little quick breakfast stop with delicious aromas right when you walk in the door. You can immediately feel that it's a cozy neighborhood joint. I think it's neat that they have a little area for small kids equipped with toys and a large T.V. that was playing cartoons when we were there.
The guys had the egg, cheese and ham bagel sandwiches and I had a bacon & cheese bagel sandwich. We all thought the food was delicious and the husband and I appreciated the low prices.
The menu has many breakfast options. The ladies working the counter were super nice--with welcoming happy smiles....
