Rynerson Park is one of Lakewood’s most thoughtfully planned and family-friendly outdoor spaces. With a looping interior walking trail, expansive lawns, shaded playgrounds, and a direct bike path connection, it’s a rare example of a park that balances openness with safety. I regularly bring my kids here — the separation from the main roads makes it easy to let them explore the green space freely without stress. The playground is well-maintained, and the trees offer great natural shading throughout the day. One of my favorite features is the dedicated bridge that connects directly to the San Gabriel River Bike Trail — making it a perfect detour stop during a ride. Whether you’re walking, biking, or relaxing on a bench, Rynerson offers a calm and clean atmosphere. The park’s design clearly prioritizes family use, safe mobility, and green openness. It never feels overcrowded, and the presence of open fields, scattered picnic benches, and mature trees makes it ideal for casual outdoor activity or a quiet afternoon reset. A standout in Lakewood’s park system. Highly recommended.

We love Rynerson Park .... we go every day and never have a problem except for this girl and her dog. It attacked everyone's dog at the gate it got so bad my husband had to pull her dog off our puppy another lady came to us and said her dog attacked her dog too it attacked four dogs before being corrected I'm just bringing awareness because she thought it wasn't her dogs fault she cursed at us and flipped us off. There are Park rules for a reason. I give her two thumbs down and girl if you're reading this do better.

I truly believed this was a nice park at glance; Plenty of space for running, children & elderly to walk along. Not safe for property, however, very disappointing to be here as free spirit, and sadly/suddenly an individual keys your car due to "consumed bias"non other. Hey, Karma is a B*** , but meantime- you're better off Not coming around w/o Dash camera. You've been warned. All I did was buy a sticker to support my brother in the military...but some people have no shame in vandalism.

This park is my local favorite.

Pros:Two dog parks, plenty of shade, wildflower garden, occasionally get to see a some horses on the horse trail, can get pretty close to some rabbits( by the horse stable), big with enough to run around and avoid the crowd, plenty of parking, fitness machines, and a playground, free poo bags for your dogs, baseball fields and access to the San Gabriel river trail( 45 to an hour bike ride to the beach), only gets crowded when they have games

Cons: only one bathroom open for the whole park(it's a big park), the fitness machines are are inside the playground and kids thinks it's part of the playground, with it being so dog friendly you have irresponsible dog owners that LOVE to let their dogs off leash and not pick up their poo, so don't be surprise if you step on poo every now and then, And lately an increase of people doing drugs in their car in the parking lot.

Still...

Great park. I walk here daily 3 laps. My only 2 complaints, which are kinda big complaints are Dog owners. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOGS ! ive been walking and caught numerous owners watching their dogs poop and they dont pick up after them and a lot of the time its on the walking path !

Like someone else has said. There needs to be an increase in police patrols because people literally just pull up in the parking lots and start doing drugs. The other day when i was there i caught 3 diff cars just openly smoking weed and on the street parking side, i parked right next to 2 needles.

Edit. Police need to seriously have more patrols at this park. Here now and 3 gang members are trying to sell me weed out in the open...
