This is one of those times where I have to review the business more than the product they put out. Service was ok (never got a coffee refill), food good, atmosphere not bad, all in all decent. Location is pretty solid although right on busy Colax so sitting outside might be too noisy.
My biggest issue and why I have to give this place one star (and likely won't return) is the price gouging.
If you look at the menu it shows that paying with a credit card will increase your bill 2.5%. This is 2023. If this was 1995 and credit payments were expensive, new, and required carbon paper again, sure. But everyone pays with a card these days. This charge is implied with the course of running a business and shouldn't be pushed on the customer. As someone who ran clients through a credit/debit processor, I would never have thought to charge them for it let alone actually do it.
But that's not where this stops. They also charge 35 cents for every to go box or container. So maybe bring your own Tupperware.
But wait, there's MORE. On the back of the menu it says that for every split plate (ie sharing your food with your child) they up charge you $2. Tell little Timmy that he has to get his own damn food or cough up some nickels.
Stop doing this. I realize that times are tough. As a business the last thing you want to do is annually jack up prices. But fees are the absolute worst and scummy business practices.
This place has a relatively large indoor seating area and outside has a dozen or so tables. When we arrived the wait was 15 minutes. You're not struggling for customers. Your menu items are pretty pricy anyway. $18.99 for a steak and eggs and there's literally a nice restaurant one minute east of here with the same item for $15.99. That place doesn't charge you to use your card or take food to go. Unfortunately the wait there was 25 minutes. But had we known the price gouging here, we would...
Read moreBreakfast on a Sunday! Four or maybe three and a half stars. This place so had some really nice qualities and some mediocre ones so I'll definitely try them again maybe for lunch or happy hour though.
The decor and total environment is adorable and fabulous. A mashup up of vintage and rustic style while still looking clean and well maintained. Love the vintage and antiques on the walls including radios and phones and some other cool looking accessories without looking cluttered! (Also a wall of big tvs for watching sports too!) The tables were a fun butcher block type. There was one set of hanging wires from the ceiling where it's looks like a lamp was pulled down that I wish they would replace or cap but overall a great looking place.
The dining room was also really big and not too cluttered with tables. And the tables were big too! A really nice comfortable layout with a cute patio out front, though the noise from Colfax was too much for me. Some noise reducing privacy screens would be cool but would block the view so that's probably intentional.
The staff was efficient and everyone was fast though I feel like grumpy? Maybe everyone was in a bad mood? There were not a lot of smiling faces but fast and good service otherwise. Lol.
The food and prices were okay. We will try again with other selections. The corned beef hash was out of a can and I would NOT recommend. (It's so cheap and easy to make fresh though?) Also they had a ton of benedict options I was super excited about. I asked if they made their hollandaise fresh and the server said yes but it must be made fresh from the powder so that's my fault for not clarifying.
TLDR; Cute dining room and big tables. Fast but unsmiling service. Don't...
Read moreThis place was absolutely awesome! We were really surprised at how good it really was ... First off the coffee rocks!! It wouldn't matter to us if the food was delicious .. but the coffee wasn't the best .. Luckily it's strong enough without being bitter .. nutty and powerfully caffeinated. The wait staff is very helpful and and kept the cups full! My wife had the Eggs Benedict.. the hollandaise sauce was really good. with just the right amount of lemon. I had the green chilli Huevos.. with hash browns. .. I'm from Houston Texas so I'm not as familiar with the green chilli sauce as Colorado natives might be. I was so WOW'ed by the incredible taste .. I might just have another full trip to Colorado just for this sauce!! While we were eating breakfast, .. a bus full of " Senior Center Citizens " filled the table behind us. Easily 16 to 20 people. Everyday chose different drinks and food .. about 3 or 4 waitress and waiters started delivering breakfast and drinks so quickly... and with the best attitude and attention to details. We were so impressed how wonderful they treated the elderly customers. I can't wait to get to come back to this amazing restaurant, .. I highly recommend you try this place everytime you're...
