CASH ONLY BUSINESS Made the trip here the other day after seeing it on the daytripper, even saw Alfredo himself. There is currently a boil notice for Lampasas so they were charging $2 for a bottle of water, with no refills or replacements which I thought was actually insane, bottled water is cheap and if you can’t serve tap water let’s not price gouge. On top of that they serve you ice in a cup with your bottled water that I assume was made with the same water that has a boil notice on it?? All the staff was super friendly and checked on us often, always love when waitresses work to help each other out and check on tables that aren’t their own. Place wasn’t super busy and we had a nice view of the water. Ordered Queso & Guacamole for $12 for 2 smalls, which I felt was overpriced. The guacamole wasn’t good but the queso was. I ordered the Raja plate which I found to be delicious and the chicken was perfect, seasoned great, my wife had the El Tejano plate which I believe was the most expensive thing on the menu minus the fajitas and I received more food on my plate than she did on hers. The steak was little more than their fajita meat uncut. Incredibly disappointing and I wouldn’t say it was good either, low quality meat, no flavor, small portion. Additionally I’m a big fan of chile toreados but the one we received was not fully cooked, it was still quite raw on the inside which wasn’t ideal to be sure. It was likely they barely blistered the outside and called it good. I wanted a side of grilled onions until I noticed the price was $6 while talking with the waitress. She laughed and she thought it was ridiculous as well. Overall we enjoyed our time here and every restaurant has hits or misses and we would come here again, however I do think their prices on certain items are way out of line and frankly unacceptable. I’d recommend anyone who visit, probably wait until their boil notice is over and be particular about what you order. 7/10

We heard about this place from watching The Day Tripper and thought we stop in next time we were going through Lampasas. You never know what to expect and this place exceeded all expectations. You can tell the quality of the place when you walk in and smell the delicious food. Our mouths watered from the beginning. We started with small bowl of queso, because why not, and it was very flavorful. You knew it was real deal food at that point. The homemade tortillas with the poblano chicken dish I had complimented everything and my wife's enchiladas had some of the best sauce we've tasted in long time. We are already planning on what we can have next time we go through there. Just make note that they are cash only and have ATM in store if you need it. Stop in and you will not regret this place. highly recommended!

I was traveling from Stevensville, Texas to San Antonio, Texas when I stopped at Alfredos in Lampasas, Texas. When you walk up it says voted best in town. Doesn’t say what it was voted best in town for, just that it’s voted best in town. Well I’m not quite sure what they were voting for because their food definitely is not authentic and does not taste like anything worth writing home about. Then they Have the tiniest printed sign at front door saying “Cash Only”! Who the hell doesn’t accept credit cards in 2019? So now I have to pay $2.85 for an ATM charge. I was never spoken to again after I got my food and then had to ask for my bill, still not knowing that they don’t accept credit cards! I’ve had better Mexican food from lunchtime Roach Coaches! And then when that lady saw me looking for they’re barely existing print on a small sign that says “cash only” so she literally ran to the front door asking what I was looking for and then I pointed at the little print and said oh I just saw your sign that is barely readable right here. And she says, “oh we have a sign out by the parking lot too”, which was not true at all!!! They have is a sign that says “ATM inside” nothing about cash only and it’s half blown over! Too bad I cannot post the pictures of...

Everything about this restaurant is five stars! They serve complimentary chips and salsa, which is my favorite! Their appetizers are amazing and theyr entrees are great size and quality for an amazing price! Wonderful options even for the kiddos. My daughter ordered chicken nuggets(go figure lol) and they were even the dinosaur shaped which she was so presently surprised and very excited about(also great serving size and price) ! ❤️ If the weather is nice definitely eat outside because it's such a unique and picture perfect opportunity and even otherwise dining inside is also very personable and lovely! Such a WONDERFUL attentive staff, and again great portions for a great price, on top of great tasting food. I just moved to lampasas about 3 years ago and still recommend this restaurant to anyone living here or just passing through! Overall 10/10 small town dining and will always pick to eat...
