On a cross-country road trip and needed a caffeine pick up. I am SO SO SO GLAD I found this place!!! I’m a matcha enthusiast and have been drinking daily for 7 years so my standards are quite high— ceremonial grade is the only kind that actually gives me the proper matcha effects. Located inside a cute town square hidden behind local shops, Kyotobrew felt like an oasis as soon as I walked in. It’s so clear the owner poured immense intention into the design of the space and the menu selection. High quality ceremonial grade matcha from Uji, Japan, BEAUTIFUL and clean bathrooms, and the most delectable syrup options I’ve seen in all my 7 years of trying matcha all across the country! I got a matcha latte with pistachio milk (love when there’s a milk alternative beyond oat!!!) with ube syrup and it was DIVINE. But the real star of my experience was my partner’s latte— iced matcha latte with MISO CARAMEL SYRUP. Ohmygoooooooood I want to hug whoever came up with that. So delicious and refreshing and energizing. The barista was so warm and kind, vibes were immaculate (saw some people quietly working on their laptops & not a single bad vibe to be found), and they even have cute merch! I had to get a t shirt! It’s clear the owner infused so much thoughtfulness into this space and anyone who passes through Dallas or lives in this area should absolutely check this out!!!!! Kyotobrew just got a new super fan!!!!!!!!!

Owned and operated by two sisters, Hannah and Estelle, in historic downtown Lancaster. What at first glance seems like a simple menu, all offerings are superb leaving any customer satisfied and ready to make Kyotobrew a part of their daily routine. For drinks, I tried the Matcha Latte and Kyoto Cold Brew. The matcha is ceremony grade sourced directly from a supplier in Japan. Being of such a high grade, the Matcha is gentle and delightful flavor. The Cold Brew is made using an authentic Japanese slow drip tower which gives the coffee a mild enjoyable flavor with high caffeine content. When it comes to bites, I tried the Shokupan Texas Toast. It is a person with OCD’s dream pastry as it is a near perfect square slice of toast. Served with a slice of butter and a pack of preserves. I also had the Pecan Cinnamon Roll, a delightfully sweet and savory pastry that is likely in my top 5 best cinnamon rolls list. EXCELLENT! Lastly, I had a Jalapeño-Sausage Kolache. This wonderful roll of goodness has a, locally sourced, quality sausage, a fresh slice of jalapeño and cheddar cheese. This fantastic snack offers a consistent bite with all flavors throughout the entire pastry. The staff is kind and courteous, making any newcomer feel welcome and excited to be there. One of the owners, Hannah, loves to come out of the kitchen to interact with customers and make sure everyone is having a great experience.

I love this place. I went to visit this weekend around 1:00pm and its in my top 3 favorite speciality coffee shops in the DFW area. I also rave about this place as someone who has spent 5 years in speciality coffee as a manager, drink curator and barista. - From Dallas its about 25min but its a very easy drive and breathe of fresh air out of the city. Parking is also very easy. - (note: this is not a Starbucks or LALA Land. This is a third wave craft coffee shop. ) - The customer service and atmosphere were great. I suggest you section some time to just sit and enjoy the space. Environment overall was very clean, bathrooms big in size and music volume was very appropriate so that you could still talk with other guest. I tried the strawberry matcha, Iced bourbon vanilla americano, Kyoto cold brew, a single shot of espresso and the Apple pie with a touch of whip. The matcha hands down is the best grade of matcha i've had since living here, i don't care what anyone has to say. The Kyoto cold brew has a enough flavor to not add cream but it doesn't hurt it you do, its very smooth. The Shakerato/Shaken americano is very coffee forward. If you like sweet just asked them to add more. The apple pie was surprisingly very very good ( the touch of whip was very good but you can also add ice cream). Will be back again very soon for their cocktails!
