Hickory House — Restaurant in Lancaster

I would give ZERO stars if I could!!! My husband is a regular for breakfast here, and decided to share the wealth with me because apparently the breakfast is amazing, but I unfortunately will NEVER know! We were placing our order, and the male cook asked my husband what meat he wanted with his pancakes, so he advised he wanted sausage links; at which point the owner interjected and yelled out, "Hey, he said he wants your sausage!" to the male cook, raising his brows with a suggestive look on his face. At this point, the cook was so embarrassed, he could do nothing but put his head down and turn his back to us. Everyone around was as shocked as we were, but the owner was just as oblivious, pompous and arrogant as ever. Needless to say, after the shock wore off, we quickly left without saying a word...which took EVERYTHING OUT OF ME TO DO! My husband and I will most definitely NEVER patronize this place again. This was the rudest, most disrespectful comment, and totally insensitive to heterosexual men, who never want to be associated as being homosexual. It may be minor to some, but customer service, satisfaction and general respect is key to being a successful business owner, and unfortunately he missed these marks by leaps and bounds in this case. I'm not sure if anyone else has had similar experiences with this man, but I would not be surprised, as he acted as if he was shocked when we silently and respectfully walked out of his run down...

This is a little family owned place that I personally heard about through coworkers and friends. So literally the next day I went off and walked around to corner to check it out. Was instantly greeted by one of the owners to the sight of a lot of good looking food at a low price! The other owner shortly came out afterwards and he has A SENSE OF HUMOR lol. I wasn't expecting it, but it really brightened up my cold cloudy day. I got the chicken fried steak, stuffed potato, pecan pie, and a stuffed bbq potato, and everything was so good I could've eaten it twice! Definitely want to return to check out the breakfast menu which is just as good, if not better, than the lunch menu. Great work guys...

I must admit out of the times ive been there today they let me down. I called in my order today bc I didn’t have time to go place in person like I normally do. When I’m there I see all kinds of ppl come in ahead to the front of the ppl in line ordering for their food to be made or even get in the line but let the lady know hey I had a call in order. And she pulls them out and let them pay if the customer that’s waiting food isn’t ready. Today I send my husband to get ours and he has to wait, the line it’s out the door, we don’t stay far from the place. What’s the point of calling it in if you still have to wait, especially when you seen others walk up and get a call in order. I...
