We stayed nearby for Rocklohoma, so we had a diverse group of 4. The ONLY diverse group. 2 white guys, asian and African-American. We chose this place because we were close to it for dinner before we head out to the venue.

the moment we walked in, we had a full staredown from the other patrons and the owner himself. Everyone was immediately uncomfortable. We asked if we could do take-out, and they said no. Even though we can see other diners getting to-go boxes.

Our waitress was nice, conversed with us and all. After she took our order and walked away to help other diners. We ordered 3 meals as one of us is sharing with the other.

The food took a good 40 mins to arrive (we know it's that long because we had allocated time a good 3.5 hrs for food and travel time to see Evanescence), while we looked over and watched 2 different larger (6-8 top) groups who walked in after us get served, AND get their food. There were 2 other diners who sat by the bar who also got their food before we did. We decided to asked the waiter if we could just pay for the drinks and we'll go. She said sorry, "I forgot you guys were still here". And tried to see what happened to our food. The manager (I think) walked over and said our food is coming in about a minute and we said alright, we'll take it.

All 3 meals were cold when it got to the table. You can tell it's been sitting somewhere for quite sometime. Even the soup was luke warm. The only food there that was enjoyable was the fried shrimp. The grilled chicken and mashed potatoes was dry, the chicken salad was dry.

To make it even more uncomfortable, the table next to us even asked, "was it worth the wait?" No. It wasn't. Maybe it is if you're a group of full "white American" group, but if you aren't, you sure won't be...

Wife was wanting fish so we found this place,

We asked about the calamari, twice, tubes or tentacles, the waitress said “ I don’t know I don’t eat it”

So no appetizer, so we moved on.

Wife got walleye, I got chicken fried chicken.

If you get the walleye, be ready to pick out bones. No flavor at all. “Toothpicks” the waitress called them. The black hair on the side of the plate was a surprise but it was not on food so didn’t make it an issue.

Chicken fried chicken was decent, gravy has zero taste. Salad is a bowl of lettuce with a couple slices of carrot radish and cucumber. Garlic bread was soggy and it came on its own plate. Seemed microwaved.

No draft beer Bottle prices are not shown or known by waitress.

Extra fee to use a credit card.

Won’t be back.

—— added this after reply

After the expected response from the owner. I’m adjusting my review to 1 star.

Owner is a clown. Walleye should have not bones when served.

Asking about bar prices is not uncommon, I can afford it, but I don’t want to overpay.

Card fees are for tax deductible,

Our first time here. The food was very good and the portions were good. The prices seemed high compared to some places, but the hamburger steak was 1 lb versus the typical 6-8 oz patties elsewhere. Our server did a good job and is not the reason for 3 service stars. When we got our check, I was charged $0.51 for the cottage cheese and my wife wasn't. You get a potato and a veggie side, the CC was on the list and last time I checked it is neither and it also isn't anymore expensive than the other sides. The explanation I got was, I substituted it for a veggie and the wife substituted it for a potato, LOL. CC is neither and no more expensive than any item on the list. I then went to pay and they charged the non-cash penalty on. I don't know if I missed it, but I never saw this on a sign or on the menu. We would have still walked in and ate, but I like to know upfront what I'm paying and hate all these nit-noid fees. It wasn't the servers fault, but they got a $7 tip instead of an $9 tip. Good food and we recommend it otherwise, just order potato cottage cheese and not veggie...

Maybe the best Burger on Grand Lake. I was surprised. This burger patty was a full half pound, cooked perfectly medium. What I was not expecting was the charbroil flavor. It was really really good. A burger that didn’t need anything. Meat and bread. It did come with LTP&O on the side. M, M or K were available on the table. It comes with a side of your choice. I got okra, my wife got fries. If the restaurant would pizazz up those fries, they would definitely have the best burger combo on the shore line of Grand Lake. Good friendly service. Taking a little too long for the food. Unfortunately, our server got involved with cleaning the floor. Our food sat on the counter a little too long. Only warm when it arrived. – 1 star. Comfortable diner café environment. The burger ….excellent. I would come back here to have a burger. I will never pass up a good char burger.

Nice little restaurant. Visited twice on a weekend. Drastically different experience each time. Friday night staff very friendly. Saturday afternoon staff ~ not so friendly. There’s plenty of room. Comfortable atmosphere. Food was surprisingly delicious. The Beer Batter Pretzel with Cheese ~ SO GOOD. Chicken patties and mash potatoes ~ tender and homemade. Cheese Burger ~ also a good one. The only hesitation is the price. They have homemade pies ~ stopped in on a Saturday to buy a Coconut Cream Pie for a Party. They don’t sell it by the Pie. I asked about purchasing 4 slices, the waitress was rude. I asked the price per slice 😳$8.98 a slice. That’s crazy!! Problem solved, she didn’t have to be bothered with going to see if they had any. Keep in mind it’s a lake restaurant and I think the only one in that small town.

$14 dollars for a meatloaf meal. And $10 margarita. I knew the price before I ordered, but I think it was way overpriced. The meatloaf was on the daily special. I never noticed what the price would have been if NOT on the special. They put a slice of bread on a plate. Then a slice of bacon. Then added the meatloaf on top of those. Next, they add the gravy. The definitely loaded too much gravy. The taste was good. The margarita should have given me at least a slight buzz for the price they charge. It didn't. I do not drink that often so my tolerance is very LOW. Other places charge $4.99 and I get my buzz :p. I won't go back. Unless someone else pays. Lol.
