Mariscos El Pescador Shiloh — Restaurant in Laredo

We visit this restaurant occasionally. They are accommodating to our large group of 10. It's one of a few places in town where we don't feel crowded as a big group. I usually have the Tacos Bandidos, and they are always delicious. The charro beans aren't as consistent, though - the spiciness varies a lot. Some days all our food is excellent but others it varies. The margaritas are always good. As a parent, I really like that there is a children's play area. It allows the adults to chit-chat for a while. Although, when it's packed, I usually pull my kids out since it is a small area. The restrooms are usually clean. I do really wish they would replace the diaper changing table. It is so unhygienic. They should also consider installing one in the men's restroom. They have a stage for live music but it's only for dinner some nights. I have been a guest for a party in their large private room - it's lovely. The decorations they provide are beautiful. The servers are nice. I've noticed, though, that they are usually good up until you are done with your food. We usually have to wait a while to get our check because the servers just stop coming by around the time you are finishing up. Judith was our server this last time. I ate here May 2019 with my family because I used to eat at the other location by I-35 all the time and always loved it. This was my first time back in a few years.

I ordered some fish tacos to start and photo shrimp as my entree, while my family ordered their main entrees.

My tacos came out with my families food. These were by far the worst fish tacos have ever had in my life. The tortilla was doughy, there was no sauce, and the fried fish inside was not crispy but almost soggy and lacked flavor all together.

Disappointed with my tacos. I waited patiently for 5 minutes after my family had gotten their food. And then 10 minutes.... And then 20 minutes... And then 40 minutes!!! By this time the waitress had only come by once. By the time I got my cold food, my family was finished eating. I tried my food and I have never been so angry about a restaurant visit on my life. (It sucked)

I waited 40 minutes for cold trash. I asked for the manager and IDK if they even called him because he never came.

Long story short....ordered a 35 dollar red snapper that came out burned and dry! Called waiter he made faces and seemed upset that i was complaining! Manager comes over and starts arguein and debating how fish was not burn and was ok! Ended up paying 18 dollars for the half that i consumed! When i turned it around the other half was worse....burn to a crisp! I order red snapper all over and i know what im getting! Manager at el peskador on shiloh acted like if the place would shut down and be put out of business for a plate of red snapper! One would think a restaurant thats been in laredo for years ...would have the courtesy of making the customer another fish or simply removing the item! Instead the manager goes to the table to argue and debate when he should have gone to the table to offer an apology and what he can do to make it right! Guessing this is where education comes into play! The manager seemed like a drop out from high school out of the ghetto! Had it been an educated business person in charge ...then the outcome would have been different!...
