Arrived at 4:30pm with family to get some pizza (and a hot dog for my daughter).
Server advised the Tuesday special was order an X-Large pizza and get a medium pizza free. We ordered that special (and a hot dog for my daughter). Hot dog came right away. My daughter enjoyed it.
We waited an hour and still no pizzas. Server advised there was a mix up but it would be out soon. After another 20 mins, one pizza comes. But the free medium that was the cheese pizza still wasn't done. My son only eats cheese pizza so he didn't get dinner tonight. Server tries to apologize and offers free deserts all around which we don't want. So she says she'll discount the pizzas.
Cool. Glad she's trying. I'm fairly laid back in life so it's all good.
We eat. Pizza is ok. Free medium finally comes out in box so we can go now. Server brings bill and turns out the medium pizza isn't actually free. Server states she advised the manager it was her error but wasn't able to correct the bill. She was able to give us my kids' drinks for free. She continues to apologize and states she will have the manager come talk to us. Sounds fair.
She comes back asking if there's anything else she can try to give us because the manager won't come to talk to us. I laugh. A screw up is one thing - we all have them. But this is just someone that has no concern or respect for the clients that are trying to write their paycheck.
So I ask what the manager's name is so I could include in my review and potentially bring it up with an owner who wouldn't want employees treating customers this way.
Her response? Mark Rich.
Ah, nevermind then. It's in fact the owner of the place that refuses to talk to his customer and leaves his poor server hanging out there on a limb trying to explain why. When my two young children asked why he wouldn't talk to me, I made the most of the situation by using it as an example of what it means to not have integrity and not be accountable for your own actions and decisions.
Some people don't deserve to stay...
Read moreRated service a 2 out of 5. Not too happy when we walked in 25 min after we placed our online order, and the front desk lady said she didn't get on Uber eats because she didn't check her iPad. I get it, accidents happen, but they could at least offer something complimentary for their error, a soft drink, some extra garlic knots, something! I've worked at restaurants and when they make a mistake they will usually offer you something. In any case, they rushed the order, but we still waited an hour in total after placing it online when it should have been 20 to 25 min. On the bright side, the in-dining restaurant looks quaint. We observed that most of their orders were to-go. However, there were a couple of tables seated with customers.
As for the food, it was a 3/5, nothing is really memorable or remarkable. We had 3 families try the spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccine, pizza the works, white pizza, and garlic knots and no one had anything positive to say. I'm really disappointed in the knots... They were hard and not much to taste. The bread was super dense and seemed stale. The only decent items were the fettuccine and white pizza, but I've had much better. The works pizza was just so, so and same with spaghetti, no one really ate it, no even the kids. It may not be fair to compare, but we had the most delicious NY style pizza at Fontaine Bleau located on their promenade. The dough was so soft, the crust was perfect and the ingredients will blow you away- so much flavor! I think it was called Miami slice...definitely worth checking out if you're there. In the end, at least we can say we tried this place, but we would not recommend it...just wasn't our cup of tea,...
Read moreWasn’t going to write a negative review until speaking with the manager. I was excited because of all these positive reviews here. First time trying and a huge fan of NY pizza. Born and raised there. I’d add photos here if it had the option. Pizza didn’t look appealing. Then the flavor was just bland and even hungry I didn’t want to continue eating after a piece. I called because having family in the restaurant industry all my life. Waitstaff, management and owners of their own built business I know how important it is to know if someone wasn’t satisfied with their meal. Even her tone was wrong for dealing with a customer who had a negative experience. She’s the reason I’m writing this. It’s easy to be polite when you get a compliment but a criticism is more difficult. Going to have to work on that. They thought I was attempting to get free food. Free food that I have no interest in eating? No. I called because owning a business is really difficult and you have off times but being defensive and rude is not how to handle it. I stand by I didn’t like the food but I didn’t like the customer service more. I don’t know what in your own life you may be battling so I do wish you peace with it all. But do be conscious of how you speak to those that buy from you. Good luck...
