It is with a heavy heart that I have to leave a bad review on my favorite pizza place of all time. I grew up in the city of Chicago and remember the square slices all the way back in the early 1970's. Back then, when my dad asked for peppers, parmesan, giardiniera, and ranch, there was no question. They threw plenty of them in the bag for a giant 24" thin crust pizza. Over the years, it became two small ranches, one small giardiniera, and a couple packets of parmesan & peppers for an 18" thin crust pizza. Now it is just one tiny cup of parmesan and a couple packets of peppers only. When you spend $45 for an 18" pizza and a small salad, you would think there would be some complimentary sauces. Nope. Now You must pay for everything. THEY EVEN WATER DOWN THE RANCH DRESSING NOW !!! This would not fly in Chicago, even by today's standards. The ranch dressing was a home made thick, rich, and creamy dressing which was awesome. NOW IT IS RUNNY LIKE WATER !! THEY CUT THE DRESSING AND WATER IT DOWN TO SAVE A BUCK !! What is going on here ? Rosati's Pizza is starting to fall into the category of Pizza Hut and Little Ceasars if they keep this up. Very sad for the high dollar we pay at Rosati's to have...
Read moreWe ordered two pizzas, one a thin crust with sausage, green peppers, onions and green olives, and the other was a Chicago-style sausage deep-dish. We ordered over the phone and were told how long it would take to make them, (35 minutes). We were at Rosati's in exactly 35 minutes and they had just put our pizzas on the pick-up counter, (by the way, the counter girl was ready, willing, and able to serve us and with a smile on her face, which is not easy to find at carry-out or pick-up places here any more). The timing was perfect! We had an eight minute drive to get them home and both pizzas were piping hot. There sauce is so so good with chunky pieces of tomatoes and large pieces of their wonderful Italian sausage. I wish that I knew how to download a photo to show how mouth-watering scrumptious they were, and even better to eat! We are Chicago natives and are used to really great pizza, so I want to thank you, Rosati's Pizza for having what we crave right...
Read moreThis place is not good enough to be this slow. In fact it wasn't good at all. Ordered fries as a starter and a calizone. After 35 minutes I told the waiter to go ahead and cancel the fries. He obviously forgot them and gave me dear in head light look. Didn't apologize. Didn't care. We were the only people in the place when we ordered. Calizone took all about 40 min. I asked it that was the norm, and was lectured that calizones take a long time.
I go to the other Rosati's, and on a busy night they never take that long. I also worked at a pizza place for a few years.
So nobody had time to eat cause the appitizer never showed and the calizone took 40 minutes. Waiter could not care less about our experience. If the waiter had showed any empathy I could forgive the situation, but he spent the entire time talking to the cooks in the kitchen I'd rather go hungry than eat this food for free. Needless to say I'll never go back. Food was bad. Service was...
