Carlton Depot Eatery & Alehouse — Restaurant in Laurel

I really wanted to like this place being local. Went in simply to have drinks and check it out. Drink menu you is a bit pricey but not too out of control, great bartender cannot stress that enough but even the bartender was a little pushy. So we decide on drinks which I cannot say we're not fantastic. Here's the kicker a rather pushy waitress had approached us twice in the short amount of time we were there if we wanted food, simply said no we're just having a couple drinks. Then after the drinks come the waitress comes back and asks us third time being even more pushy and States according to their liquor license which is not posted on the internet on the door at the bar or anywhere that if you're going to have alcoholic beverages you have to have food at the table. So now we're being forced to buy food that we didn't want in the first place for overpriced drinks. So we ordered the cheapest thing on the menu which is some sweet potato chips that take forever to show up then when they do they are so overcooked they taste like charcoal we took pictures and some are so undercooked they're gummy. So what started out as a couple drinks turned into a $35 drop for nothing. I really wanted to like this place but if you're going to force them to buy something just to have a drink I'll be a blunt I wouldn't go back to this place if...

Amazing servers and the decor was beautiful. Especially liked the lighting. Food was yummy! I'm from Billings and have no problem driving to Laurel again to eat here.

Please give it a try. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this local restaurant, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! The quality of their work is truly outstanding, and you can tell that they take great pride in what they do. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.

I was especially impressed with how efficiently they managed their time and how delicious the food was. Everything was completed promptly without sacrificing quality. It's clear that this team values their customers and strives to provide the best service possible.

I highly recommend these folk to anyone looking for top-notch service in a great environment. I will definitely be coming back for my future entertainment and...

🙄 So tonight we drive out to Laurel from Billings to stop and have dinner. But upon arriving there at 8:10. We are told your closed. 🤐 This is absolutely terrible restaurant etiquette. 🤔 Um... says on the door on google everywhere you are open till 9 so when I go out of my way and clearly at this time there is no where else to go eat in any direction. And I made it to your establishment in plenty of time to eat and be out of there by 9. Not a good start for a brand new restaurant. You do realize you are one of the only places to eat in any direction you go. Bozeman, Red Lodge, Molt. Might wanna consider staying open for the duration of your hours to get and keep customers.
