Updated: It's been 2 years since I've been in the area and had to come back to get the Chonut as well as the delicious onion rings. My first attempt failed as I got there at 2:50pm. They apparently stop serving lunch at 2:30pm. So be sure to note that when you plan your trip. I ended up driving just over an hour back the next day out of my way just to get this food I've been thinking about for 2 years. The chonut had a tad of a spicy kick this time but still good and the onion rings were still flaky and crunchy. I got the donut burger too. Just because. I'm not sure when I'll be back so I wanted to be sure I satisfied my cravings. I think that did the trick.
OMG hands down the best hand battered onion rings I've had. Not only that the Chonut; chicken tenders on a glazed donut with bacon is out of this world good. Maybe not for my waistline but to treat yourself once in a while; that's a good time. The Bavarian cream donut was awesome too. I'm sad but thankful I don't live closer as I'd have a hard time not making this a daily stop. It's that good. If you're visiting the area or have a cheat day ahead of you, do yourself a favor and put this place on your itinerary and go when they are serving lunch Monday - Friday. There's a reason they are Leader Call's Readers' Choice award winner for several years in a row. And the staff is sweet. I went back and tried the Donut Burger. Bit of a wait this time but worth it cause that was delicious too. However, the Chonut wins out in my book. And again those onion rings are just so...
Read moreG'day mate! Let me tell ya 'bout this little ripper of a joint called Garcia Donuts right here in Laurel. Crikey, it's like a hidden treasure in Mississippi, I reckon!
First off, the donuts here are fair dinkum amazing. I'm talkin' about the kind that makes ya wanna do a little happy dance. They've got this glazed donut with sprinkles that'll make ya feel like you've just caught the biggest wave at Bondi. And the kolaches? Mate, they've got the perfect amount of space – not too stuffed, not too empty, just like the outback.
The staff? Faster than a kangaroo and friendlier than a quokka! They're runnin' around makin' sure everyone's as happy as a larrikin at a barbie. Even when they're busier than a blowfly at a barbeque, they're courteous and helpful.
Now, let's talk about the chicken sandwich. Blimey, it's the best I've had anywhere! It's like finding water in the desert – a true blue miracle. And if you're feelin' a bit peckish for something more, they've got chicken tenders and onion rings that'll make ya sing Waltzing Matilda.
Sure, the parking lot might be as tricky to navigate as the Outback, but that's no reason to give it a miss. Just send your mate to grab the tucker if the crowd's got ya feeling like a possum in the headlights.
So, if you're ever down under in Laurel, make sure to swing by Garcia Donuts. It's a beaut spot that deserves a solid five stars, and that's no bull!
Cheers to Garcia Donuts for keepin' our bellies full and our...
Read moreI called in an order today. I was told on the phone that it would be 20 minutes. When I arrived I stood in a 15mins long line waiting just to find out that my food had 5 orders ahead of me. It didn’t do any good to call my order in because the people that were in the line ahead of me and in the drive thru ahead of me orders came before my call in that was called in 25 minutes prior to the time of me finding out that they fix the food in the order that the orders are received. Meaning it WILL NOT DO YOU ANY GOOD TO CALL IN A ORDER HERE… THRY TOLD ME A 20 Minute LIE ON THE PHONE… WHAT’S THE USE OF ACCEPTING CALL IN ORDERS IF YOU HAVE TO COME IN AND WAIT ANYWAY AS ORDERS ARE RECEIVED???? JUST TELL PPL THE TRUTH!!! TELL THEM YOU DON’T TAKE CALL IN ORDERS… BECAUSE YOU...
