Well the Band was good!!! The Restuarant was nice itself. Great Atmosphere with the Band playing. But it was entirely too loud to hear or give an order. Noone even checked on us for 20 minutes and servers passed by us atleast 12 times without acknowledging us. Young teenaged girls with no experience be-bopping, shaking their tails around and goofing off instead of working!!! I went and told the hostess. We finally ended up with someone whom was drunk or totally aloof cannot tell which; however she seem to be staggering and struggling. And she took our order and that was it. She disappeared for long periods of time.(perhaps out back smoking) No refills etc. Another nice lady from the back did the rest and picked up the slack once she observed what was going on. We thanked her as she brought our to go boxes. Food was okay. Definitely had better elsewhere. Chicken strips were not fully cooked on my salad and the tomatoes were about to go rancid. Tea was watered down. Fish sandwich was mediocre. Fries were descent. hush puppies salty. jalapeno poppers ok at best. No kids menu but they allowed us to improvise on our child's order. $66 is quite much for 2 adults and 1 child's dinner. $3.50 /beer is pricey. I don't think Athens charges that much. Receipt was not itemized so who knows what was rang up. Would probably only eat here once a year if i were at the lake in the future; if at all. There def seems to be some sort of commodore towards regulars like hugging on them and practically sitting in ones lap. Such behaviors are inappropriate in a family restuarant! I felt appalled at what I was seeing & disappointed like we were not important enough to even be waited on...esp after a long...
Read moreThe place has changed dramatically since March. This place has always had good food, but after this weekend 🤮 We noticed their menu changed a bit. We ordered wings - they were over seasoned and my order of onion rings were soggy and in broken up pieces. They were also out of several brands of beer. The best waitress they had there is no longer there (found out she quit for various reasons and she was working there for years). Also heard it is under new management or ownership 🙄 We were seated outside and told there was no seating available because some entitled person was having a birthday party there - probably related to the owner. This was one hour before the band was ready to take the stage. I'm sure they lost a lot of business due to this. I was sorry for staying outside while others went in to get our table. If I had entered the restaurant to obtain the seats, I would have left immediately - I didn't know that there was an infestation of flies everywhere! I did not find out about the flies until after I ate when I had to go inside to use the ladies room. Flies all over the men's and women's bathrooms and I am sure those flies were swarming about the place from the kitchen to the bathroom. They knew it was bad, because they managed to hang up fly tape. There were so many flies that tape couldn't keep up with it! Oh yeah - we were sick within several hours after eating here. Also - JR Cash is a wide open restaurant they do not have any issues with...
Read moreThe menu is Southern, everything is served with ranch. The peel and eat shrimp was good. I also had the fish taco (which I thought they couldn't mess up) It came with cheese, lettuce, tomato and ranch no cilantro and none available (even though I asked the waitress before I ordered it) the fish was minced.... The waitress was barely adequate, I had to retrieve our second drinks from the bar because she forgot, walked past them twice. This place has no "Vibe" a wasted opportunity. No music on a holiday weekend? Not even piped in, sad. The Televisions weren't even on! A bonus Saturday for the holiday weekend and they missed it. They obviously put their focus on the boat storage and the Marina side of the business. The best view of the lake is from the back of the parking lot, not the restaurant. A winding drive past all of the metal storage buildings. All very Generic, food barely adequate and drinks were overpriced. We will be exploring other options...
