Update 4/2024: I keep coming back bag after bag. No one beats the taste, quickness of delivery (that I now get straight from their website), and pure joy I get from smelling beans that were roasted just days ago. I mean, really? Who else does that?? Perfect in every way. Will continue to be my go to place for fresh roasted beans.

I was searching for a local roaster to get fresh roasted beans and found Brickhouse. I bought a Breville and brushed off my old barista skills and wanted a high quality bean that wasn't Starbucks. When I tried their beans, I was amazed at how much of a difference the fresh factor brings. I can use an ultra fine setting (as opposed to almost coarse with the old Starbucks beans). My favorite part is that you can see the written Roasted On date on each bag. It's done the same week, perfect for espressos!

I've been a huge fan of Brickhouse since they had a store nearby my house. But, with Covid and now having 3 kids under 2 y/o, going out to their new location was very difficult. I was thrilled to find out they offered the same whole beans via Amazon for the same price. And although I still miss the amazing homey atmosphere and getting that pro made fresh espresso, I can at least get the at-home experience now. El Corazon has been my Go-To since its smooth and doesn't trigger my acid reflux. But the decaf is really good too (especially when I was pregnant or need a 2nd cup now that I'm breastfeeding again) since they use the Swiss water method. I can drink it straight, diluted with hot water, mixed with a vanilla Fairlife protein shake, or if I'm feeling fancy caramel latte style. Thank you for offering small batch fresh beans for those of us who actually...

I've only ever tried two things from here, and they were both, hands down, the best of their kind. I tried a cold vanilla apple cidar back in the fall of 2018, and I wish I could have bought a gallon of it. But my go to is their vanilla chai. It is divine. It warms my soul when I drink it. I tried to have another coffee place (closer to where I live) make me a vanilla chai by adding vanilla, but it was a disaster. Brickhouse does something special. The flavors are so smoothly blended that it just tastes like they are two parts of a whole. Whereas the abomination imitation tasted like chai tea with vanilla syrup added--which, I mean, is exactly what they did, but it was awful. I don't know if that makes sense, but just trust me... You gotta try it. I look forward to it every time I visit Greenwood. Also, the inside of the shop is really warm and cozy, and the owner is super cool. I just really love it. Can't recommend this place enough. ❤️

Edit: Oh! And I forgot to mention, since I go there regularly, there was one time I went through the drive through and the owner gave me an extra caramel something or other--maybe it was made by accident or something. But he gave it to me, and I took it to my networking group, and it made my friend's day. He helped me help someone else. And that...

We have been wanting to try this coffee shop for some time now. We came in at 10:50 AM this morning, and were excited to try their beverages, but also found ourselves hungry as we had not had any breakfast. We were hoping for some pastries, but they didn’t have any. Not a problem! We saw their sandwich menu that was displayed and decided, oh that sounds great! We requested to order a sandwich and the barista told us “We actually don’t serve those until 11.” Two things, the sign right by her head says “Serving lunch from 10-2.” Next, it’s 10 minutes before 11, and you have a ready customer willing to pay $13 for a sandwich (extremely high price, but that’s not the point). We honestly were just kind of shocked by the situation. There were maybe 4 other guests in there at the time, all of which had their items they had ordered so it wasn’t as if they were slammed and couldn’t accommodate. To me, by the time we had finished ordering & given them a couple of minutes to make our drinks, we would have been right at the 11:00 mark. Next, if you aren’t going to serve your lunch menu items, update your board to show the appropriate time for starters, and don’t put them up there until it’s time that they can be ordered. We love our local coffee shops, but this one lost...

I like to order a traditional espresso and a cup of drip, depending on what is available. The point is to get a feel for the espresso and for how they make/sell the coffee. If you ever go get a basic coffee bean drank, you probably can’t taste the actual espresso. This espresso was made from some fresh beans. Not rancid or bitter at all, just strong and absolutely delicious on its own. The drip coffee was hot and fresh, once I got somewhere to sit down and enjoy it, it was equally good. Subtle flavors, not burnt, not old. Just very good. Bourbon barrel Brazilian? Outstanding. The spinach quiche and lentil soup were unexpectedly well made and a perfect lunch. We spent a long time here talking to the owner and having a great time. He was happy to answer all of our questions. Thank you so much.

If I had to create a top 5 Indy coffee list, Brickhouse would be in that list. The coffee house initially started as a Roastery and now they brew their own coffee and serve some very delicious baked goods. I tried Lavender Lemon Scone paired with Americano and I must say that was such a stellar combination. The crispy lemony scone with hints of lemon and medium roast Columbia’s roast was such a fine morning treat. This coffee shop isn’t a chain and is a local gem in Geist. The area is captivating and so is the coffee shop. Ambience is sheer bliss and there’s a comforting vibe about the entire space. Highly recommend trying out Brickhouse for their coffee and excellent service!
