Cugino's Pizza — Restaurant in Lawrence

I have only purchased 2 items off of the menu, fried mushrooms (3 times) and 2 pizzas) at Cuginos. The fried mushrooms were delicious and the IDC pizza, delicious, and the works pizza I called about today because I did not see one of the toppings that should have been on it. I was told that I complain everytime I order which is a complete lie. I have raved about the few things that I have purchased. Today, June 12th, was the first time that I ever questioned anything, and it was not a complaint, it was a question. I am very disappointed in how I was treated, apparently a mistake in identity.The few things that I have had there have been delicious, unfortunately, I probably won't patronize again because of how I was treated. Wish I could give 0 stars. I didn’t even get a chance to taste the food. I found this place using google search because I wanted a chef salad. I’ve never been or heard of this place. After reading through pretty decent reviews I decided to call and place my order. Some girl picks up the phone and I inform her I would like to place an order for carry out. I ask for a chef salad and as I was requesting no olives she blatantly yelled over me small or large lol. I’m like ok I’m didn’t know it was different sizes so now I’m trying to gauge what’s the difference in sizes I don’t want a family size salad but I don’t want a side salad either. So I reference the pic on the website and simply ask is this the large in styrofoam takeout container? She belts they both in styrofoam , you want small or large, it’s small salad and large salad. Oh my gosh y’all. These people are awesome. This pizza is delicious. The breadsticks are delicious. This is clearly a locally owned business and it deserves every one of these 5 stars. The sauce is a little sweet (the perfect amount.) the crust is flavorful and the perfectly cooked texture. The toppings are perfectly balanced. The prices are phenomenal. The building looks kinda.... not amazing. But that’s ok. It hides the jewel inside. Everyone was wearing masks. Everything was clean. There was an issue between me and some of the patrons at the church next door over parking. It wasn’t at all something cuginos could have prevented, controlled, or fixed. But they made sure I was taken care of. And the manager called me to make sure I was happy and the pizza was good. This was seriously personable service with really really good food.
