I've been in a couple times now, because I never like to rate a coffee shop by just one visit. And "Comfortable" was my first impression on both occasions.
Dark wood accents with comfortable chairs, tables or a window counter to work at, and just a really relaxing atmosphere in general!
The service was really great the first time I was in, actually! And Taryn was both friendly and helpful while I was looking at the menu on the wall, asking about the pastries in the case, and just deciding what I wanted to try on my first visit.
She was back and forth from the counter to the kitchen going about her work between questions. But Always immediately attentive and helpful whenever I asked about something or wanted to purchase a sticker from the counter even.
And helped to make my initial visit both pleasant and relaxing as I enjoyed discovering what this new venue had to offer!
The coffee was good, not over roasted or holding any of that burnt bitter taste that comes from sitting around too long at times. And with a variety of sugars sweeteners and milk cream flavorings etc etc on offer, my coffee was provided just the way I like it!
Update: Had a Dirty Chai my third or fourth time in, and it was fantastic also! The owner was in that time, and just as friendly and helpful with suggestions and recommendations!
Overall, I would highly recommend the coffee and the venue!
An Added Note: It is worth noting for those of a more technical mind, that there aren't power outlets at all or most of the tables it seems And the 2.4G Wi-Fi (Secured) connection appears to be set up as the Main network, and the (Open) Guest network WiFi seems to be on the 5G connection.
So if your device does not happen to have 5G connection capability, you'll find it impossible to connect to the Guest Wi-Fi.
It's nice to have the faster Wi-Fi speed available for the guests, however not all guests will be able to take advantage of this courtesy, unfortunately.
Which leaves the venue somewhat lacking when it comes to using (usually company issued) devices that aren't cutting edge, and are a step behind the current optimum...
Read moreMy wife and I have taken to staying in Lawrenceburg when we transit back and forth from Michigan (our summer place) to Alabama (where we teach at UAB) - given its proximity to various distilleries and the incredible countryside that surrounds. And every time we do, I ALWAYS can count on Off the Ground for a FANTASTIC cup of coffee (or more specifically: Mocha). Locally owned and operated, the owner (whose name I am blanking on) is (seemingly) ALWAYS there whenever I go (right when they open, at 7AM) and is just super kind, friendly, warm, and welcoming. Truly a gem of a place, and I wish them all the very best of success. Will definitely be hitting them up the next time we visit! THANK YOU, Off the Ground, for brightening my mornings with your coffee and...
Read moreAmazing coffee shop off the beaten path! Stopped in here on vacation. Mocha latte was great! I wished I wouldn't have to drive 6hrs to come and get one! Their frosting with a side of cinnamon roll, 😁, was amazing! So soft and delicious! My daughter told me "I'll eat your half if you decide you don't want it." The staff was so friendly and the shop had a great atmosphere. I would stop here every day if I lived nearby. I would have gotten more pictures but the food drew me in before I could...
