Licho’s Mexican Kitchen — Restaurant in Lawrenceburg

Originally thought "Do we really need one more Mexican restaurant in Lawrenceburg?" Pleasantly surprised! Definitely not "just another Mexican restaurant."

The menu is simple yet adequate. The food was fresh, tasty, reasonably priced, and plentiful.

My wife had the steak burrito and I had the Shrimp Fiesta Bowl. We had the side order of chips with guacamole and white cheese. One of the best lunches we've enjoyed in a long time.

The new owners have done a great job of making the place look new. It's bright and inviting. They down sized a lot of non-essential space and opted for a modern and efficient environment. Very asteticly pleasing.

Best Mexican food in Lawrenceburg hands down. I appreciate that the restaurant itself is bright, colorful and clean. The food is fresh and good. The flavors are great, the different meats are seasoned well, but not over seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My favorite so far is the Al Pastor, sooooo moist, flavorful and good! Their tacos are great, very authentic and just plain good. Oh , and their medium salsa is actual medium salsa, not just their mild salsa with hot sauce added to it. They have beer and margaritas as well, so this makes a great spot to catch a quick lunch or have authentic burritos for dinner. The staff are super friendly and come and talk to their customers. Heads up: This is a counter service restaurant. I haven’t seen it mentioned elsewhere. There are tables where you can sit, but you go to the hostess station to order your food.

My wife and I were underwhelmed, given the 4.9 star rating. The hostess never smiled and really didn’t help us to know the ropes (like the fact that it was counter service), even though it was pretty clear that we were new and there was not another customer in the restaurant.
