Jack's Cafe — Restaurant in Le Roy

I love Jack's Cafe! The food is great - I had the lasagna for the first time and it was amazing! I normally don't order pasta too much when eating out, as I'm pretty picky about sauces and spice and such, but thought I'd give it a whirl tonight since it was the special. It was SOOO good! Mild, just like I like it; made with ground beef, or chuck, or whatever they use, layered with cheese amd a nice mild sauce. Just good ol' down home cookin'. It also came with Garlic Texas Toast - Ummm yeah!! And choice of soup - I ordered the potatoe soup - some of the best I've ever had - complete with chunks of taters in it! Even the water was good! Lol. Not chlorinated-tasting like some places, and they ended up bringing us a caraf, which I liked. My daughter got a piece of pie, and, well, you can see that for yourself! Need I say more?! :) The service was wonderful and our waitress was very personable amd so nice! This is a half way meeting point for our daughter and granddaughter and whenever we come here, we usually linger for almost 2 hours and the staff never says anything or makes us feel like we need to leave because we're taking up space (of course if they were super busy and needed the tables, we would definitely be respectful and head out.) Oh, and the restrooms were clean - always a plus in my book. The dining area was neat and clean as well, with lots of seating, and the temperature was also comfortable. Today (11/11/23) was my second time dinning at this establishment, yesterday being my first. I'm an over the road trucker, who's not always afforded the opportunity for a full service sit down restaurant meal. I usually only stop at the Love's for fuel and go about my travels keeping America's food supply up and running. My first meal consisted of southwest egg rolls, chicken soup and the Gyro sandwich. The sandwich turned out to be a platter not a sandwich, the soup was just fine alone but I love pepper in my soup. This evening, I had the soup again along with the fettuccine Alfredo and chicken. My server today was quite attentive, a bit more than I personally want but best not to ignore the customer(s) and make angry customers. As for the atmosphere... The dinning area is large both wall to wall and floor to ceiling. Unfortunately, both days there was a child or children being rather loud, obnoxious and unruly, with the parental units caring for not.

All in all, would I recommend this dinning establishment to truck drivers? ABSOLUTELY!!! A good healthy portion reasonably priced hot meal as opposed to McDonald's or something of that nature? Sure. Will I come back? Not for dinner service. I want to...

If I hadn't eaten a bite here, I'd still give 5 stars for the amazing, friendly staff alone!!! I'm not much of a french fry girl but they have THE best fries. Perfectly crisp & well seasoned. Secondly, beef barley was the soup of the day & my first time to try and it was delicious!!! (Needed salt, but hey... No biggie, right). We had the chicken & ribs special and I was super impressed with the chicken crust, but it lacked flavor as did the ribs. Of course we had an adult beverage and my margarita was superb 👌 Absolutely perfect! My hub had a beer and a special added touch was the guy came to our table & poured it for him. I thought that was so great!! The menu was impressive. From steaks to Manhattans, Reubens, Chicken Alfredo, Chicken Parmesan & much much more. Although hub & myself both agreed the food could use more flavor, I absolutely could not in good conscience discount stars because the environment was great, laid back and relaxing and the service we received was absolutely impeccable.
