Frank's Pizza & Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Lebanon Township

Let me start off by saying I've been coming here for the 8 years I've lived in the area without an issue. I've always loved their good food, and they're one of the few places that deliver. But I will never give these people another dime because of what happened to my boyfriend and I while there. If I could give zero stars, I would. I know this is long, but please read to the end.

The first incident was a few months ago. My boyfriend (who is black) and I (white) along with his nephew all sat down in the back of the restaraunt for a pizza. It was pretty busy as the Califon fair was going on right down the road. We waited patiently for drinks and to order, and other people who sat down after us were already being served. This didn't bother us much, as it's busy and I can understand that. We ordered our drinks and food together and before our drinks even came out, a man from behind the counter brought us our check. Not once has this ever happened to me when it was just me there, or me there with my all white family. It bothered me and my boyfriend a lot, but I offered another alternative. Maybe they're just busy and trying to make everything as quick as possible. So we still order from them in the few months in between, but it's always me going to pickup or delivery.

This last incident is the one that is pushing me to never order from here again. My boyfriend and I ordered pickup from them as usual, but this time we were both going to pick it up. We walked in and the hostess kimdly greeted us but saw that we were going to pick up an order. There was a man behind the counter chatting with two young white kids. We waited patiently, listened to them go on about their lives, waited some more, grabbed some drinks from the cooler, and waited more. By now our order surely had to be out of the oven, we were waiting there for at least 5 minutes listening to these kids talk to the guy behind the counter and had shown up 5 minutes past what they said on the phone when we ordered. When these kids finally stepped away from the counter, this employee made eye contact with both my boyfriend and I, and turned right around without a word to either of us to go talk to the guys in the kitchen for another five minutes. This man had all the time in the world to talk to these kids who weren't even ordering anything, but when an actual customer comes up we were completely ignored. As I said before, I've been coming here for 8 years. I've never had a problem with this place before, but the second my boyfriend walks in with me, we are completely ignored.

Food is good - we've been to Frank's several times and while we enjoy the meals the service is spotty at best. Last night was the final straw. Brought 1/2 my husband's dinner order out (forgot the sid of meatballs); sat for more than 15 minutes waiting for my chicken dish, which never came, while hubby's food was getting colder by the minute. No explanations, no apologies, no offer to bring more bread or refill drinks. Asked the waitress to just cancel my order, bring a box for hubby's remaining dinner and bring the check. Waitress mumbles an "I'm sorry" and walks away. Almost 10 minutes later no box for leftovers, no check. Finally bring the dish up to the counter, ask them to box it up and bring the check. When I asked to speak with whoever was in charge I was told the owner was "out on a delivery." Still no explanation or apology about why, almost 25 minutes after hubby's dinner arrived, mine had yet to make an appearance. We...

Our family eats at Franks pizza often. The food is amazing! The service is amazing as well you are always greeted with a smile and a Hi! How are you doing!! The staff at Frank's Pizza in Califon is always very kind, courteous, and attentive to your needs. The food at Frank's pizza is fabulous everything from the appetizers to the salads to their pizza, calzones and their dinners. Franks offers a Special Monday and Tuesday 2 large plain pies for $16.99. Frank's also offers daily specials and lunch specials.
