We stopped by this restaurant based on other Google reviews as we were headed back home to Southwest Louisiana. I will preface this review with the fact that SWLA has some of the best Cajun cooking in the state in my humble opinion. My hubby got the boiled crawfish. He personally rated them a 4 out of 5 because they were sprinkle with seasoning after they were boiled even though they were also boiled in well seasoned water. I got the boiled seafood platter and thought everything was very good except the shrimp were over cooked and hard to peel. I personally like the seasoning sprinkled on top after they are cooked. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and the crawfish dip was equally excellent. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. If I have any suggestions to improve on an already great restaurant it would be this: consider asking each customer IF they want the dry seasoning dusted on after they are finished boiling the seafood. Other than that one little nuisance, everything else was perfect! I would return if...

My husband and I went on a drive to Louisiana and we stopped to get a bite to eat at Mud Bugs The staff members were very friendly. Very kind and respectful.

The food was delicious but the fried crawfish was extremely salty and the fries were bland. Although I must say that the shrimp Poyboy was delicious and once I bit into the the damn thing I said,”YUMMMM”- the waitress even heard me and started giggling as she walked away. It was adorable. I’m sure she appreciated my initial reaction.

The decor could use a bit of updating and uniformity but other than that it was good experience. It’s a quaint hole in the wall diner. Would definitely visit again.

I forgot to add that the fried boudin balls were delicious as well! Definitely order those bad boys...

Called the day before to be sure I could get live crawfish the following day, and was told they'd have plenty and no need to reserve. Purchased everything else we needed for a boil and planned on being there as soon as they opened the next day. Following day rolls around and I was informed they were refusing to sell me any live because I didn't reserve them, and they were keeping what they had for themselves. Even after explaining I had called and spoke to someone the day before the woman was extremely rude and told me that didn't matter, I wasn't getting any crawfish. They've always been fairly rude, but the crawfish were great, so we kept coming back. After this I'll never...

This is the first place went to eat upon moving to Louisiana (July 21, 2023). Although crawfish season was over, we had some awesome food. The service was phenomenal and the restaurant was well kept. They do not serve alcohol, but have sweet tea and ample soft drinks. We even got an off menu item that was delicious (crawfish etouffee). The inside is somewhat small, so I can see it getting packed, but we went for lunch and had no problem finding seating. Their boudin balls were top notch. Best restaurant I've eaten at in a while and absolutely recommend checking them out.
