I'm a longtime customer, but it appears service and food quality continue to deteriorate at this location, so I may have to switch to the Overland Park location on College Boulevard. We were here last Sunday and the service was the worst yet. Our server argued about whether sweet potato tots were served on the weekends until I told her I'd ordered them numerous times on Sundays. She then checked and confirmed I could order them. My mother's meatloaf was served dry and overcooked, and her eggs were served sunny-side up - not poached. Our server never returned to check on us, despite returning to her other tables near us several times each. We attempted to flag her down and instead had to flag down another server. She also forgot to serve the aioli with the tots, but once again, she didn't return to our table and I had to wait 20 minutes before I could flag her down to get the aioli that should have been served with the sweet potato tots.
To make matters worse, when my mother ordered a replacement entrée since the meatloaf and eggs were not cooked to order, we were originally billed for both entrees on the receipt. The manager than came over and argued that he would give us 50% off the original entree that was practically inedible, but he couldn't just "give a meal away for free," which is beyond strange, because any restaurant where the food was screwed up and the customer had to wait for a new meal, the customer is never charged for the original meal. He finally agreed to only charge us 25% of the price for the screwed-up meal and we paid full price for the replacement, which is still beyond ridiculous and unheard of in the restaurant industry.
Our server - who could not have been more indifferent or disinterested - never returned to our table after that. I had to request a bag for to-go containers from...
Read moreAnother adventure when exploring the kansas city metro. Here in lenexa your find one of the chain locations of Shack. A mixed message family breakfast spot. Tons of crowns like you find at burger King for the kids. And a welcoming write on our walls environment however that being said no lack of taste which undervalued the environment. With profanities you may not want your child reading outloud.
They do have large tv's so you can watch the latest and greatest football match up.
The coffee was a medium roast and does come with a full pot to table so you can enjoy free refills. I gave it a 6 out of 10 on my tiktok drink review.
Onto the food. I ordered a build your own omlette. Ham and Cheddar. If you have a food allergy I highly suggest mentioning it as there was cross contamination a tomato or a red pepper. The egg was slightly undercooked and runny, my side of hashbrowns were cooked but not crispy. The English muffin was toasted just right.
I also ordered a side of bacon and to my suprise it was rushed out in under 3 minutes. And was cold, so I'm guessing as many places do they pre bake their bacon early in the morning. It was crisp but lacked seasoning and flavor. And again was cold.
Overall if you come here as a family. I suggest getting a table in the middle of the dining room, so you can truly enjoy the atmosphere more. If your out to watch the game, bring a marker to tag yourself on their walls and try one of their 6 specialty cocktails.
The variety on the menu was fun but overall not something I need to visit again. Check it out for yourself,...
Read moreConcept is pretty good. This is a breakfast/Brunch/Lunch type of place that also serves alcohol unlike similar places. All the menu items have very interesting and creative names which was fun to read but forces you to really look through and read rather than skim the menu. I went with friends who have been several times and said food was wonderful. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and hash browns. There was a huge puddle of oil under my steak even though all was covered in gravy. The CFS was a prepared frozen, not breaded in house which was ok. The gravy seemed to be fresh made and not just a hot water and powder food service mix. It had nice amount of sausage with varied sized chunks, other than salty was good. My over easy eggs where cooked properly but also in a puddle of oil and one was broken in plating. The hash browns were not sitting in a pile of oil however they either soaked up the oil or where just cooked in way too much oil on the griddle. Based on other reviews I hope this was just a bad outing for my first visit. I wanted to like this place so I hope if I give it a second chance it will be worth it. I won’t count out a second shot but I am in no rush and not at...
